BMI is a horribly inaccurate way to measure one's fit level. It totally fails to take anything other than height and weight into consideration. It doesn't consider how muscular one is, even though that person may have an excellent body fat percentage but weighs more because of the muscles. It doesn't consider a person's frame, which is very important for this topic. It isn't good for people with dwarfism at all. BMI can call you obese when you really aren't because it is a bad way to measure that. All that said, I'm not surprised the government wants to us it.
