Not to mention the fact that Isaiah preached naked, and it was not a sin or a shame.

Actually, "YMCA" was performed by the Village People, and of all the members who have been in that group over the years, most have been straight. </font>
And who did the Village People later become?? Men At Work.

You do not know either of the men I am referring to, and therefore you have no basis for this statement.

What amazes me is the legalistic fake attitudes and standards of some that I read on the BB daily.

It seems that Jesus addressed this in Matthew 23:27-28 "Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness."

You are perverting the Scripture, nowhere does the Sceripture say what you do. </font>
12Then King David was told, "The LORD has blessed Obed-edom's home and everything he has because of the Ark of God." So David went there and brought the Ark to the City of David with a great celebration. 13After the men who were carrying it had gone six steps, they stopped and waited so David could sacrifice an ox and a fattened calf. 14And David danced before the LORD with all his might, wearing a priestly tunic.[c] 15So David and all Israel brought up the Ark of the LORD with much shouting and blowing of trumpets.

16But as the Ark of the LORD entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, she was filled with contempt for him.
17The Ark of the LORD was placed inside the special tent that David had prepared for it. And David sacrificed burnt offerings and peace offerings to the LORD. 18When he had finished, David blessed the people in the name of the LORD Almighty. 19Then he gave a gift of food to every man and woman in Israel: a loaf of bread, a cake of dates,[d] and a cake of raisins. Then everyone went home.

20When David returned home to bless his family, Michal came out to meet him and said in disgust, "How glorious the king of Israel looked today! He exposed himself to the servant girls like any indecent person might do!"

21David retorted to Michal, "I was dancing before the LORD, who chose me above your father and his family! He appointed me as the leader of Israel, the people of the LORD. So I am willing to act like a fool in order to show my joy in the LORD. 22Yes, and I am willing to look even more foolish than this, but I will be held in honor by the girls of whom you have spoken!" 23So Michal, the daughter of Saul, remained childless throughout her life.

They may have been men that went to work, but not the Australian band, "Men at Work."

Your ignornance and lack of knowlege in this area is so abundant, it needs no comment. "Men at Work" was an Australian band. They had nothing to do with the Village People.

I don't expect you to acknowlege your error here. You never have before.

It had nothing to do with persecution, it had to do with politics and prophetic fulfillment.

Isaiah served in the kingdom of Judah in the eighth century BC, when Israel had been taken captive by the Assyrians. This left Judah directly on the path between Assyria and Egypt. Assyria sent a force to attack Ashdod, near Judah. Isaiah's set out to show that Assyria would conquer. "The king of Assyria [shall] lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt" (Isaiah 20:4). Isaiah was commanded not only to speak words of prophecy but also to enact them. It was not enough for him to say that the king of Assyria would take the Egyptians and Ethiopians away captive, naked and barefoot, but he was to demonstrate the prophecy by himself loosing the sackcloth from his loins and putting off the shoes from his feet, to go naked and barefoot for three years.

Oh yeah? You provided the "basis"

    </font>
So? Are you now fashioning the Word of God as a weapon formed against your brethren due to your lack of discernment of the Word? Yes, you have so done.

Would you really like to examine my walk with the Lord to continue your condmenation without any regard to actual evidences?

Your picture defines much about you and your liberalism, in fact, it dares some one with a credible walk with God to speak out against it. You're a provacatist. No doubt you would also have persihed in the wilderness complaining against Moses for being a "legalist" as well?

Oh, and if you're gonna label me as a Pharisee, please tell me to which sect I belong? You would also call the Apostle Paul a "legalist" as well?

Well, I don't know if Men at Work performed it as a tribute or not, but the song YMCA was performed by and a big hit by the Village People.

Go to Wikipedia and look up the Village People, and you will see that their two biggest hits are YMCA and In the Navy.

This is so absurd I can't believe anyone even pays this goob any attention. It is obvious that salamander is nothing but a troll. Nobody is so completely goofy that they actually think a band that didn't debut until 1982 performed another bands song that was new in 1979 at the 1980 grammy awards.

    People, don't feed the troll!

Just to get this back on topic, dancing is fun and lovely.

However, I am assuming that those against dancing would then also be against ice skating, gymnastics, and even calisthenics? What about sychronized swimming?

If it is just about male/female touching, is shaking hands or hugging someone you are not married to wrong?

Is jumping up and down wrong? Does it make a difference if it is to music?

I'm curious where the line is drawn here.

Now I know where I draw it -- I draw it at sexual suggestiveness. SOME ballets are suggestive. SOME ballroom dancing is suggestive. SOME ice competitions are suggestive.

But not all. And not even most.

So where is the line drawn by those against dancing altogether?

Well, having danced all my life and having taught dance (ballet, jazz, modern)for many years...now retired from teaching...now a dance choreographer...there is alot of wholesome dance out there and there is alot of trash. I even see a good purpose for dance in church. Dancing is a gift I was given from God and I can't see why He would be unhappy with me if I used it as part of my worship and praise. [IMG]

That is true of preaching too.

I even see a good purpose for dance in church. Dancing is a gift I was given from God and I can't see why He would be unhappy with me if I used it as part of my worship and praise.

Years ago I visited a Messianic Jewish Congregation and was most impressed at the knowledge of the Bible among those in the congregation. But in their worship which was about three hours long was a short segment of dance during the worship service.

There is an old Cheech and Chong joke. I hope it is not too distasteful.
Q:Why dont Baptists make love standing up?

A: Because they dont want anyone to think they are dancing.

I dont see a problem with a man dancing with his own spouse but keep your hands off husbands and wives that dont belong to you.
