    There is an existing disagreement on the flood, global, universal or local.
    I believe it was global. I am open to a non global universal flood. But the problem would be what were it's boundaries if it was not global? There are no firm answers.
    There are Biblical datings for the flood.
    The oldest living tree sets a post flood date.

    I usually say that God does not work miracles. He makes it happen.

    Let there be light, and there was light.
    Produce the earth ... and the earth produced ...
    Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; ... and it was so.

    JESUS said: Luke 17:v.26-27-KJV
    26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
    27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the Ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

    Genesis 7:v. 11-13 and 19-20 and 24
    11 On the seventeenth day of the second month of the 600th year of Noach’s life all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of the sky were opened.
    12 It rained on the earth forty days and forty nights.
    13 On that same day Noach entered the ark with ... his family ...

    19 The water overpowered the earth mightily; all the high mountains under the entire sky were covered;
    20 the water covered the mountains by more than twenty-two-and-a-half feet.

    24 The water held power over the earth for 150 days.

    Again: God does not work miracles. He makes it happen.
    Let there be light, and there was light.
    Produce the earth ... and the earth produced ...
    Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and it was so.

    Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Matt.19:v.26

    In accord biblical Chronology, through Genesis chapter 5 we can see that the flood occurred 1.618 years after Adam, as follow:

    Adam lived …............................................ 130 yrs and begat Seth
    Seth lived ………………………….......…….......105 yrs and begat Enosh;
    Enosh lived ...................................................90 yrs and begat Kenan;
    Kenan lived....................................................70 yrs and begat Mahalalel;
    Mahalalel lived ..............................................65 yrs and begat Jared;
    Jared lived ....................................................162 yrs and begat Enoch;
    Enoch lived .....................................................65 yrs and begat Methuselah
    Methuselah lived............................................187 yrs and begat Lamech;
    Lamech lived .................................................182 yrs and begat Noah;
    From Noah´s birth until the Flood..............600 yrs.
    Total of years from Adam to the Flood = 1.656 yrs.

    I work with the Word of God. Notice that the table above is proved by the Word of God, it is not human theories or human speculations. The Word is GOD, understand?

    The Bible says it was global. Genesis 7:19, And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

    No. Trees used to grow fast in that former nature. The birds went out and returned to the ark, no trees. A week later, again birds sent and this time...trees. In the garden it was planted. Days later...trees. So any tree growing will have rings that represent the nature in which it grows. When nature changed is not known. However, it was probably around the time of the tower of Babel. So if trees were alive when nature changed with hundred of rings, those ring may have grown in months or years. Only after nature changed would it get into the yearly cycle we know today. That means that tree rings cannot tell us when the flood or the nature change was.

    without a reason to understand otherwise, I'm just gonna say ... no.

    it's a fairly extensive list in the genealogy ... why would it be in the Word if it wasn't complete? Perhaps there is some recently unlocked understanding taking us through a half-dozen passages which reveal there is an omission in this pre Flood history which grants a glory to a king seeking that which God concealed (Pv 25) .... would that mean Matthew is incomplete, too?

    The bible is not supposition, that we know. I cited 2 instances where trees had to have grown fast. Counting their rings would have no way to tell us the age. No waving that away.

    You do not know any such thing. Because your statement is a presupposition.

    What are you claiming that you know without any presuppositions?

    God. Scripture. Truth. Anyhow the bible does indicate that plants grew fast in the time before and shortly after the flood. So counting tree rings cannot help you for the time near or before the flood. Period.

    Date for the flood.

    There are probably better activities to arrange a date for than a flood.

    How did you personally come to your belief? Our Bibles are printed, translated, from Hebrew/Aramaic Greek texts transcribed from hand written manuscripts which were copies of copies handed down over hundreds of years, etc. You and I are trusting others.

    If the bible says that the world was a certain way in that time, that counts as evidence. I would have thought a Baptist would have known that.

    You did not answer the question.
    How did you personally come to your belief?
    My Baptist view point began with me out of ignorance believing 8 New Testament Scriptures. I was 14. If I did not come to know God as it's result I wouldn't have remained Christian. How one knows anything comes before what one knows. Most of what one thinks one knows comes from others including what is in our Bibles. So please answer my question.
