Well, since this original post has been shamelessly and unapologetically derailed, I might as well jump in here.

(1.) I can't stand Rush. I have my own reasons, they don't really matter. Just know that I would rather be on a deserted island by myself than with Rush.

(2.) I went to youtube.com and watched the original clip. With sound.....in real time. I watched it at least 10 times. I can't post it here because the title has profanity in it. But, if you want to watch the real clip, I typed in "Rush mocks Michael J. Fox". I did, however, make a transcript of Rush's exact words.

“In this commercial he is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He is moving all around and shaking and it is purely an act. This is the only time that I have ever seen Michael J. Fox portray any of the symptoms of the disease he has. He can control himself enough to stay in the frame of the picture and he can control himself enough to keep his eyes right on the lens, the teleprompter, but his head and shoulders are moving all over the place, so this is really shameless folks, this is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn’t take his medication or he is acting.”

(3.) What did I conclude? Rush never spoke with a laughing or mocking voice. And his gestures were not mocking a man with an illness, they were describing what he saw on the commercial. And as much as I can't stand Rush, I was really wanting to see him ridicule the disease. (I'm ashamed to say that.) He was simply giving his opinion of the commercial. Oh, I do have that, by-the-by.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9WB_PXjTBo

I do not, however, believe that Rush's opinion holds weight. I, too, have wondered why Michael J. Fox sometimes looks as if he cannot even stay in his chair and other times he is barely moving at all. I just chalk it up to my ignorance of Parkinson's disease. I don't know how his body reacts to different dosages, days he doesn't feel good, medication changes, or hormonal changes.

I wouldn't presume to ask why he "appears" to be faking the severity of his disease for the camera.

I believe that Rush's opinion about Michael J. Fox isn't worth the last scrappings out of a week-old cat litter box and he should be ashamed of insinuating something that he hasn't researched. I also, based on first hand observation of the actual clip, do not believe that he was mocking Michael J. Fox's illness - just challenging his credibility.

Now......can we get back to the ORIGINAL post?

He admitted such, in his book, I cannot remember the name, but it is common knowledge. That was the original accusation. Most of the blogs have something in it in their archives, I'll leave it to you to do the research.
So ya got nothin'!

With an issue like stem cell research, tempers will fly high, and people will not be in their right minds talking about it. Rush did not make fun of him, he imitated him, and accused him of dramatizing the effects of his disease.
Imitation in this case, is mocking. Limbaugh IS a P-I-G PIG.

But back to the O/P, Letterman has the right to say what he did, and Palin has a right to call him pathetic. Seems like in the long run, this episode will be better for her than it is for him. I encourage him to continue.
Letterman will be elected to national office before people will vote Palin in.

Based on the country's current craving for the inane, the immoral, the celebrity/polical flavor-of-the-month, and role models such as Beavis and Butthead and Paris Hilton and Britney Spears....

....you are probably right! :tongue3:

Also, M.J. Fox going off his meds before testifying makes him a fairly dishonest man. Makes no more sense than a guy going off his heart meds, or chemotherapy to demonstrate his disease.

But after 5 months of the zero's lies, I know how much honesty means to the left. Fox is a hero, Rush is a bum. Letterman doesn't get talked about.

Rush accused him of going off his meds. But that was never suggested by anyone else that I know of. If you do a bit of research you will find that Fox says he often over medicates before going ton TB. If you can find credible proof that he went off his meds do it.

Nothing but blogs, that have offensive comments on them, kinda like yours. I won't link to them. You can remain ignorant, or dishonest, this, like I said, is common knowledge. Look it up enough to prove me a liar, or grow up.

Imitation in this case, is mocking. Limbaugh IS a P-I-G PIG.
If that is the case, then so is Letterman, right ?

Letterman will be elected to national office before people will vote Palin in.
Yeah, we bible students expect the world to get more & more evil. And the deceived elect will cheer it on.

What is the difference between over medicating for effect, or under medicating for effect ? Semantics make for nothing.

How about "he's dishonest because he does not follow Dr.s instructions, concerning his medication, exaggerating his condition" ?

Is that better ?

Again, ridiculous.

You are claiming he under medicated. Prove it or drop it.

Actually, I am claiming he played with his dosage. It doesn't matter to me if he lessened it or increased it, he is still dishonest.

But anyone who would claim what you claimed about Exodus wouldn't care about honesty. If you did, you'd be correcting that. Pound sand, CTB.

I'm sad to report this proof....but here you go.

This would be Michael J. Fox, an excerpt from his book “Lucky Man” June 1, 2002. Here is what he writes regarding his appearance before a Senate appropriations subcommittee hearing in Washington on September 28th, 1999: “I had made a deliberate choice to appear before the subcommittee without medication. It seemed to me that this occasion demanded that my testimony about the effects of the disease and the urgency we as a community were feeling be seen as well as heard. For people who had never observed me in this kind of shape, the transformation must have been startling.”

Excerpt from Lucky Man, chapter 8 "Unwrapping the Gift"

If he admits to doing this for a meeting with the Senate subcommittee, then I feel that he would have felt justified in doing it again for this commercial to get this woman elected in Missouri.

He was going for shock value.

Don't be sad, Scarlett.

Thank you for doing that research, it seems you are the most objective person participating on this thread.

Well isn't THAT special?

I think so. Life is precious and limited. Why waste it listening to these nonsensical programs? I sometimes wonder why I waste time responding to your inane, insulting posts.

I thought this thread was about the slime bag pervert David Letterman. Yet it is cleverly sidetracked by the leftists to endless bickering about Limbaugh. I would encourage Lady Eagle to close this thread.

And once again MP I have never wasted one minute watching the network late night shows and that includes Steve Allen. In fact I don't waste one minute watching the leftist networks CBS, ABC, and NBC.

Although this thread was sidetracked, and I objected, you made an important contribution with the information on Michael J. Fox.

Life is precious and limited.

I, myself, feel convicted about spending far too much time on the internet today.

James 4:14 - "You've got no clue as to what's happening tomorrow! What is your life? It's a vapor that appears ever-so-briefly and then just vanishes."

Ephesians 5:15-16 - "Make sure that you 'walk the walk', not like a fool, but like a wise person who makes the best use of his time, redeeming it, because the day are evil."

I just logged on today. This thread is well over the 3-page limit and is being closed.
