Trypho would teach you ..
No. This is where you fail so often.
Trypho cannot teach anybody. The best one could do is teach themselves using writings of these dead men.
Dead people do not teach. Teaching is not having ones ideas read by another person. Owen, Knox, Calvin... these are not teachers (at one time they were). Today people use their writings to teach themselves.
Look... you choose what ever philosophy you like. Pick your theory - Penal Substitution Theory, Substitution Theory, Atonement, Satisfaction Theory, Recapitulation, Ontological Substitution Theory..... you have at it.
I am not saying you cannot choose for yourself. I am saying we each own our faith and each of us will live or die accordingly.
Those who are perishing do not know they are perishing. They cry out as if Jesus were their Lord only to hear "I never knew you in return". They worked out their faith based on their own logic, their own interests, their own understandings. There was no "fear and trembling".
So when faced with your offer to join you in sitting at the feet of Trypho, I must decline. Thank you for the offer. I know you mean well but I am not interested.
