Well, since MP keeps avoiding giving a direct answer perhaps you will.

Is there a right to employ someone to help you end your life?

Of course there is. It's my life. Again, why should you care what I do with it?

Since you say that there is a right to employ someone to help you end your life do you agree that such a right does not require that person to be a doctor and that the person wishing to end their life in such a manner need not be terminally ill or in pain?

Be careful who you employ they might be tried for murder.

The problem I have with this entire death with dignity charade is: Since when is it dignified to commit suicide? Attempted suicide will get you in a psychiatric ward in many states.

If someone wishes to end their life, that's their business. It's none of mine.

As for whether the person needs to be licensed or a doctor to help, I'd say yes. Otherwise we put ourselves in a situation that anyone can murder another person and then try and claim that they were helping that person to die. Requiring that dying comes from a licensed medical professional would stop that sort of nonsense.

apparently no one who beleives in this type of murder has scripture to support it, since none has been posted.

You seem to have no problem with someone killing themselves. You've told us on this thread:

    and

    and

So, I guess you have no problem with suicide, since you are telling people to go and do it. You just seem to have a problem with someone else assisting with suicide. One of your main objections seems to be illustrated in this quote:

Funny how in the case of suicide you say God is in control, yet in the case of punishing someone you would have no problem taking the life of that person via the death sentence.

You can't have it both ways OldRegular. How do you believe God is in control when it comes to the terminally ill, but don't believe He can handle the criminals as well? Sounds like you are pretty confused, but I've come to expect that.

In my case, I understand God is in control of both situations. I guess you can just call it a weakness of the flesh when it comes to being terminally ill since I'd prefer the easy way out. Maybe you can admit that your view of the death penalty is not within God's will, but just something that appeals to your flesh. I won't be holding my breath though.

donnA, they can't post since none exists. However even if it did exist it would not necessarily have any meaning to these people since they support abortion which is prohibited in Scripture. just-want-peace had it correct about these people:

Be careful how you classify people OldRegular. I'm 100% against abortion. I may actually be more against it than you. I believe that in most cases it should not be allowed even to save the mother's life.

I believe it would be alright to authorize a doctor to give you a lethal dose of morphine when the pain became unbearable. I believe I would take matters in my own hand before such a time in my life, or should I say death.

If this is a "nonsensical" discussion, why do you have nineteen posts? Sounds like you enjoy adding strife to anything you don't agree with. Very childish!

Sometimes it is difficult to correct the foolish, and deadly, philosophy of the pro death crowd. Even 20 posts will not be sufficient.

If you are like most abortionists [as well as PETA's and tree huggers] you are against the death penalty!

The bible commands the death penalty. Why would anyone be against it ?

What about mental stress ? Is it OK for suffering of anykind to permit suicide ?

    Of course:

You cannot be 100% against abortion and believe that most abortions to save the mother are wrong.
