    Be not faithless, but believing.

James 5:8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

The Apostles encouraged those they talked with with the words that the coming of the Lord was very soon. That was nearly 2000 years ago. His return is imminent. We should have the same view as the Apostles did.

Lift up your heads, your redemption draweth nigh.

One of the things that kept the early saints from faltering is this verse that SFIC has posted. I can just imagine the saints that were shackled then tied with bloodied sheep skins then forced into the arenas. Huddled into a group praying that the Lord should deliver them. I'm sure that many feared but most trusted their Savior with their own blood. How privileged we are in the western world, where we contend not unto blood. As wicked as our society is, will we be facing similar events in the near future?

    2 Peter 3:8&9
8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Those that suffered in the arenas of Rome's Empire, were a witness to that wicked society that they should consider their lives before a Living God. Their deaths made them think of their own beliefs. Will we be called to the same?

    2 Peter 3:14&15
14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
    15And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation;

Hold on tight, my brothers and sisters in Christ, we might be in for the test of our Christian faith. Remember, Judgment begins at the House of God.

    1 Peter 4:12-19
12Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
14If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
15But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.
16Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
17For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
18And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
19Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

We should be grateful for the encouragement of God's Word.
