    SBC and Tim,
Very profound thoughts from you guys. The words to the song are very touching. May God bless your preaching this Sunday, and may it touch many hearts.

I emailed this thread to Mark Hall from Casting Crowns and here is what he sent back:

    "Thank you for the encouragement.

We wrote the songs for our students and families at our church in atlanta. Thanks for letting our songs be a part of youre ministry. Tell "tatertot" and the rest of the gang hello from me. "Cyber Worship" Thats a new one.

    ha

I hope you'll take time to study through the scriptures for almost 2 weeks of quiet times. God bless you in your minsitry in the body!

    \Love them Like Jesus

    mark"

    Thank you Mark.

I guess her comment about cyber worship caught his attention.

I'm glad your sermon went good today.
I don't preach mine until next Sunday.

I'm still trying to find illustrations that are relevant.

Tim, I am sure you will have many illustrations. That ought to be one fine sermon with that much preparation! I know you will do great. I'll be praying for ya.

When I saw the topic of this thread, I immediately remembered this song by Keith Green:

    Asleep in the Light

Joseph, there is a old song I used to sing 15 yrs ago titled "Shadow of the Steeple" also. I think...

That was a good post. It also fits the idea.

I was watching Home Alone 2 today with my boys when I noticed a scene in there where Kevin is talking to the homeless lady in the rafters of the concert hall...

She said something that got my attention. She said something like. "Everyone wants to be seen, and heard, but society passes me by like i don't even exist"

    That is so true.

How many have we passed by today, that needed a word from us?

Are there those that we unintentionally ignore?
Worse yet, do we pass by on the other side of the street to avoid some?

If we are Christ's Body, then what should we do?
And where do we draw the line?

Thats a tough question. I think we all do it to one extent or other. There is sometimes someone at church that maybe we hate to see coming...ya know. I think we pass them by very often.

I remember one time I was on a msision trip and my oldest daughter was 6 months old. I had prayed that even she could be a blessing to someone. While we were at a womens homelessshelter, one of the ladies gave her a dirty stuffed animal, then wanted to hold her. My first instinct was to find an excuse not to let her. But then I remembered my prayer and that GOd was answering it. The smile on that dirty lady's face is forever imprinted in my mind as God used my baby for his glory.

    Wow, that's powerful..
I have to say our church is pretty open armed.

I have been in some that weren't and it bugged me to death!

Just think, except for God's grace, that could have been me...

Wow! How awesome! This whole thread. [IMG]

Good questions tinytim. I would say we need to be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit and pray to be used at any time. We all need to step out of our comfort zones.
