House set to vote on Equality Act after heated debate over gay and transgender rights

Guarantees no discrimination against LGBTQ+ in private places too, such as your churches bathrooms. A gender dysphoric individual cannot be legally bared from using the bathroom of the opposite sex. If they are, then they have had their civil rights violated, and your place can be sued for damages.
That is not the only evil thing, since it has unanimous democrat support it must be bad, which is why they must pass it, they like to call evil things good, and good things evil.

So are any of you people going to email your Congress people to object or say yes to the bill?

I don't know about the act (I don't know enough how it will figure in to churches). I think that the transgender issue is pretty stupid. It is not discrimination to assign facilities by physical gender. Preference has nothing to do with it. Just because someone identifies as a cat does not mean we should provide feline-preference people with litter boxes instead of toilets. I do support the equal treatment of citizens by the government.

When people respected other people, we built facilities where multiple people simultaneously used the male or female rest-room.
Modern public parks have a building with 4 or more single use (locked door) rooms. Going forward I see no other solution.

My wife works at a private Christian school, and she is worried about it, told me about it today.
She was saying they may be forced to get rid of gender designating words for one thing. This LGBTQ+ act reaches the private sphere, not just the public one. See some offended person can complain and cause all sorts of grief.
Like I said some time ago here, Electing Biden would have bad consequences to our fundamental way of life. Biden is already costing me more money when I buy stuff. I am not all the worried about myself, more so for my kids and grandkids. My daughter is not putting her kids back into the public school system. Not liking the radical curriculum changes beginning, and she says the schools are no good, poor academics.

Actually it is discrimination - but it is good discrimination. Remember "discrimination" is a neutral term.
Granted- most of the time it is used - it is considered a negative term.

Since God created all persons, would not someone changing be saying that God did it wrong?

Or they say God made me this way, as in a homosexual, which is a lie. Being a homosexual is in the mind, in their fallen spirit.
Think about this, transexual is say a man becoming a woman, who then likely wants to be with a man, so just another kind of homosexual.
And if they dont change to a woman and stay as a man, then want to be with a man, they are homosexual.
Seems every combination is homosexual, except 2 trans together who were opposite sex to start off, but they are still acting out as an abomination.

There was a reason God said this, because God says it is an abomination.

Is it wrong for men to be effeminate or for women to be masculine? | GotQuestions.org
Of course the disputers of this age will always argue and bring up objections.
God made them male and female, meaning they have their own separate gender.
Maybe the gender dysphoric are more like demons than people in their thinking.

Southern Baptists oust churches for accepting LGBTQ members - New York Daily News (nydailynews.com)
LGBTQ inclusion and clergy sexual abuse treated equally in SBC expulsions – Baptist News Global

Society says but being gay relates to DNA??? That is a lie. It is a state of their fallen mind controlled by the lusts of the flesh, such people are also under the sway of demons, they refuse to repent.
Ephesians 4, notice the mention of their minds and hearts. Only Christians can put off the old man.

17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

The House did pass it --- and our local Congressman ( A republican) DID vote for it. :Frown
I have went on local FB pages and have asked officials of the Republican Party and the Conservative Party if they will endorse him next year.

Rep Katko (R-NY) also had voted to impeach President Trump.

About disfellowshipping churches based on the 'clear' teaching of Scripture – Baptist News Global
My quest to find the word 'homosexual' in the Bible – Baptist News Global

The above are 2 false teachers nullifying or making of no effect the word of God, saying homosexuality is not spoken against in scripture, so by implication is ok with God.
So how many of you agree with them that scripture does not condemn homosexuality.

    Galatians 1
6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

Republicans broadly opposed the legislation. They echoed concerns from religious groups and social conservatives who worry the bill would force people to take actions that contradict their religious beliefs. They warned that faith-based adoption agencies seeking to place children with a married mother and father could be forced to close, or that private schools would have to hire staff whose conduct violates tenets of the school's faith.

House Votes to Expand Legal Safeguards for LGBTQ People | Newsmax.com

If your a Christian private school, you could be forced to hire LGBTQ people as teachers, administrators or potentially face prosecution from the government. Still may be hard to prove discrimination, hiring and firing is still the purview of the administration.
Activists could take notice that an organization has no LGBTQ staff and claim it is a hate group, deliberately targeting the organization.
I suppose there are going to be some LGBTQ people who will deliberately insert themselves into this to cause trouble. And some will genuinely seek employment not thinking being LGBTQ is sinning against God.

Under the guise of "equal rights". their ultimate goal is need to legislate that churches and other must accept thnis as the new reality, and that view trumps any scriptures or held convictions!

It may not mention churches per se, but it does mention religion. Here are two excerpts from your link, one from the summary and one from the text.

Protections against discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin shall include protections against discrimination based on (1) an association with another person who is a member of such a protected class; or (2) a perception or belief, even if inaccurate, that an individual is a member of such a protected class. The bill prohibits the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 from providing a claim, defense, or basis for challenging such protections.

    “SEC. 1107. Claims.

“The Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 (42 U.S.C. 2000bb et seq.) shall not provide a claim concerning, or a defense to a claim under, a covered title, or provide a basis for challenging the application or enforcement of a covered title.”.
