I do. I dread January 20th - I am trying to accept what looks like the inevitable and hope all will be well with the US of A, but I still am sick of hearing the name and my skin crawls every time I think of the impending doom of January 20th. Even Rick Warren praying doesn't give me hope or change my having the willies. Sorry, it's how I feel. How about you?

This is beyond disappointment that your guy didn't win. Have you considered talking to someone who can put this all in perspective. It will be alright. Really.

I am not trying to be rude or condescending. Truly, your reaction is way over the top. Give the man a chance. He hasn't even been in office yet. If he is a dud, we get another chance in 2012.

Now you know how some felt when "W" was put into office.
    :)

Actually, I think Obama is an honorable and decent man. If we survived Clinton and Bush, we'll do okay here. After all, the current regime has about ruined the country.

MP, you must've had your hand on the mouse ready to post because I just put this up. Talk about quick on the trigger!

PS: I know my reaction is way over the top, but I can't help it, it's how I feel.

Did ya hear they're making a special edition Obama Spiderman Comic? He's already been made into a super star and hasn't even been sworn in yet.

I hope there is a country left by 2012. That's the year the world is supposed to end according to Nostradamus and the Mayan calendar, ya know. ;)

I trust God, not Nostradamus or the Mayans. :)

If you don't know, Presidents Kennedy and Johnson were in Superman books. It happens all the time.

And I trust God, too. I know God will take care of us no matter who is in the Oval Office. I put up the poll to see if anyone else feels creeped out besides me. :flower:

Superman was a Canadian creation, so maybe that is a good thing. At least Mr. Obama knows where Prince Edward Island is and he has already talked with our Prime Minister. We have hopes that relations will be good.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I haven't been this optimistic about the future of my country in a long time. :)

I can understand the nervousness of conservatives/Republicans. Their policies for the past 8 years have made a mess of our foreign policy(although Secretary Rice has done what she could to straighten it out) and been an absolutely disaster for our economy - the worst since the Republican President Hoover was in office.

A successful Obama presidency will put the conservatives in the political wilderness - where they belong - for the next twenty years.

Well, I wouldn't call the current crop of NeoCons, "Conservatives". True political conservatism has been pushed aside by extremists who want all or nothing. How I long for a true conservative to take the political stage. It would at least mean a return to civil dialog.

Foreign policy-wise they are neo-cons, but economically they are laissez-faire. They want most the money going to the 5% at the top of the heap and bread crumbs for the other 95%.

And they are being played by those at the top to vote against their own self interest, using the neocon social agenda to rally their minions. Hooo boy!

Same feeling I had in 2000, Jan 20. Gore was NOT going to be president. Gore got more of the popular vote, you know. Why if it was going to be Bush instead of Gore, we might be looking at $3 gas in our cars, foreign wars, New Orleans flooding, Oklahoma loosing bowl games.

Also, I wasn't married then; I need a woman to keep me tame :godisgood:

I noticed that in 1994 when the Republicans won control of the Congress that conservative Christians thought everything was going to be great. Now that their folks are out of power they think everything is going to fall apart.

Well, our nation survived the conservatives' mismanagement of our foreign policy and our economy. So even if they end up being right that Obama will be a poor president(I think he will be a very good president) our nation will survive that as well.

It's like the typical sunshine sports fan - if his team wins then they think they're headed for the championship and when they lose a game then they think that all is lost and they won't win another game the rest of the season. :)

Superman is an American cartoon hero created by an American born writer and Canadian born artist both living in America at the time.

Relations between Canada and America have been good for a long time and we don't need Obama to do anything to change it.

I don't have the "willies" but I'm already tired of hearing about Obama and seeing his face. I'll be glad when it's time for another election and hope his socialist ideas don't get too far in the mean time.

Yes, I dread the president of death being in power.

The judgment of God is going to fall on America.. and it is not going to be pretty.

The same ones that voted for BO are now turning against Israel..

I can't wait until Christ comes back.

    1) What arrogance!!!! If the conservatives' candidate wins then some of them claim it is evidence of God's blessing. If their candidate loses then some of them claim it is evidence of God's judgment. The last time I checked the Bible God has not signed on to the conservatives' political agenda in the United States.

    2) Well, we at least can agree on this. :)

    Mock all you want MP...
Christ is coming back, and if you can't see the hand of God in Judgment against this nation, you need to repent.
