We do greet people at a time in church, but during cold and flu season (and there are usually 2 or 3 Sundays when people are hacking away), I will tell people to just fist bump and the location of the purell dispenser in the lobby. :love2:

I weigh in at about 255 and I got lifted off my feet by a woman giving me a hug yesterday. Full frontal...

That is too much. I'm okay with the preacher hug -- the sideways shoulder thing -- but the folks in my new church are HUGGERS, even the men. Just their tradition and style.

How about the back slappers? Don't you just love them. They often do not hear a word you say in answer to their question(s).

Does worship start and stop with the time of the service? I hope not.

We do it at my church in the morning service when the choir and orchestra make their move back to their seats. They figure since there's already a ruckus with us moving to where we should go, everyone else might as well say "hi" and what-not to those around them.

Our church does a "meet and greet" every Sunday morning service; it's a chance for members to shake hands and welcome visitors and guests, and those who are not in the Sunday School classes.

Reminds me of a time when I almost took my preacher off his feet. I did a little back slap and caught him off guard. I'm a tad larger than he...

The sad thing about the server of sugar water is that he is a trustee at a well known seminary.
