Not really Aaron - why? Because these new restraints proposed by Trump call into being the extracting of information concerning ethnic background which go beyond anything now in place.

Now of course being the president (if he wins, which is probable) he can enact new laws (even against the constitution) to ask and pry into ethnic background and financial transactions which are presently illegal (e.g. airlines can not ask an individual purchasing a ticket if he/she is moslem and restrict them if they answer "yes" for fear they will blow up the plane).

Just as they cannot ask "are you Mexican, "are you an illegal alien?", are you sending this money you earned here in America to a family member? OK well we have to detain you".

The point is not so much the ability to create systems and software to do these things but the impact it will have upon ALL the citizenry because we would need to ask these personal questions of everybody involved in these transnational procedures.

That is IMO the major point - more laws and regulations, more lost freedoms at the expense of immigration integrity proposed by an avowed "conservative".

Yep. This is the problem as I see it too. If they want to catch illegals sending money they have to check on and clear everybody's transactions.

Exactly. That's why I said you'd basically have to control the internet to do that so that you could stop all money that's being transferred out of the US.

You don't know if they are illegal or whether or not they have every right to send money to Mexico. You'd have to obtain encrypted information that most companies are not going to just give you after telling their customers that their private information is safe.

Remittances from illegals has been going on for decades. There is a symbiotic relationship between the United States and Mexico when it comes to remittances. Allowing this to take place allows for an increased standard of living for many poor Mexican families and states. They in turn can purchase more US exports.Because of production sharing, we already get an extra 40% on the dollar back from exports to Mexico.

So again, why would the US mess up something that has been working fine for years by stopping remittances to Mexico? This wall is just a bunch of talk coming out of a boisterous candidate. If the Democrats or the GOP wanted to cut into remittances, they'd go after the companies that do the hiring. Amazingly this isn't done en masse because, once again, we're making BILLIONS off the current arrangement.

It might be a politically pretty thing to talk about. But doing so would literally wreck the economies of several states who export to Mexico due to those remittances allowing families and states to purchase US produced goods.

Depends on the freedom and privilege as the courts have deemed that non-citizens do have certain rights, privileges and freedoms. And the rights, privileges and freedoms of American citizens need not be stepped on just because someone wants to look big about building a Communist Germany type wall between the US and Mexico.

 

The thing is, the law, and what is really occurring resembles nothing in the vomitus of your imagination quoted above.

If the law was being enforced and the people doing the hiring were jailed, this would be a non-issue. The US makes a lot of money as the result of those remittances being sent to Mexico. Nobody is gonna block remittances of 25 billion so that they can in turn lose hundreds of billions and thousands of jobs.
