Eventually, something good had to come from Nebraska.

Here, here. One of the reasons I lost over 100 lbs is I gave up sodas. I have not done caffeine in ten years. I'm mostly water, juice, and decaf.

Hi-test coffee is my only vice. I try to make the most of it.

I drink one cup of Starbucks each morning that I brew myself. I do not drink coke. I do not eat chocolate. I do not eat hot dogs. I put olive oil on my baked potatoes. Food at my house is boring but healthy.

When my hippy pals (and I have many) come over, olive oil is my best friend. You can add a lot of texture to bean & veggie dishes with olive oil.

I never eat chocolate, and try to avoid anything with high-fructose corn syrup, and a lot of Gatorades, powerades, & other "sports drinks" are nothing but syrup.

When I work out, I found drinking "PediaLyte" replenishes electrolytes & sodium without the sugars & you recover much faster than drinking just water.

That may be true, but . . .

I'm afraid to try lots of stuff because of my migraines -- that's why my diet is so limited. Works out nice for me because it's healthier too, but water and 1 cup of coffee a day will have to suffice ;)

Migraines are really scary. I'd be careful as well.

My cousin, who really suffers from migraines, is so careful about what he eats, avoiding his headaches seems like a full time job.

Eating right & excersizing improve the quality of life. No two ways about it.

This is true in my case as well, but it is well worth the effort because it has greatly diminished the number of migraines I get! I've not met anyone else that has gone this route though, so I'm very glad to know that your cousin has done it too. I hope he has had the success that I have had with watching what I put in my mouth :D

I agree, Bitsy. I'll take boring over pain any day of the week! My diet is very limited as well. It's worth it if I can function.

YES! Another one! ;) It took me years to figure this out Gwen. I felt like a great burden had been lifted when it finally sank in.

I should approach my christian life like that. Weighing each decision, knowing that the wrong choice will give lasting, painful consequences, but the right one will allow growth, in a positive direction. Sometimes it's easier that others.

Not sure, but I am sure it could be nominated for the longest three-page thread ever, on the BB.

Maybe we could nominate the thread for the "Energizer Bunny" [IMG] ® © thread.

It just keeps going and going and going and goi...!

Maybe all the caffeine flying around accounts for the complete absence of coherence in the thread.

That explains the madness of some, how to explain the caffiene free posters I don't know... :)

I have enjoyed reading it though... all 18 pages of this 3 page thread

Thank you. That was basically the only drastic change I made. I started eating breakfast and just getting whatever exercise I could. If I want it, I eat it...but not too much. It worked for me. My wife was a big motivator. She has lost 60+ lbs herself.
