Paul Harvey told a story sometime back about a man who tried to rob a Dollar General store. By the time the police arrived they found that two employees had held the would be robber while a third employee wrapped the robber from head to foot with duct tape.
Oh, that's right. These were Chinese people, so it doesn't count. My bad. :BangHead:Correction to the subject line: Don't shoplift in China.

since my son wasn't beaten by anyone, and my others son's mother in law worked there for more then 10 years, and a best freind who worked there twice for a total of more then 5 years, a couple of women at church work at wal mart, I am sure this is correct, it is not wal mart policy, but chinese culture to blame.more related to the local culture than a Walmart policy
Dead on. In America, the Wal-Mart employees are endangered:I believe that his point was that attacking the alleged shoplifter may have been a response more related to the local culture than a Walmart policy.
My guess is that the story would have been no different if the store located in China were named ValueMart.
My further guess is that this would not have been the employees' response to an alleged shoplifter had the shoplifting occurred at a Walmart located in the U.S.
So in that regard it may be correct to say that the title of the thread could better be stated as "Don't shoplift in China."
Bumping in hopes that Mr. M.P. will do the right thing and retract his post.
