DOUBLE - MINDED
James 1.6.8
Here James combined those who doubt GOD and His Gospel, who accept the Gospel but do not follow it, they are all double-minded. But here is much more about this matter, because it all depends on what is doubtful and what is not. James does not talk here about ordinary unbelievers, but about those who call themselves Christians.
There is many debates and arguments among Christians about Who is GOD? Some blame GOD Father to be cruel, according to the Old Covenant of the Bible, but praise Jesus Christ to be a good GOD, according to the New Covenant of the same Bible. Such people are not even narrow minded, but have close mind, because GOD has closed their minds and they do not understand the Lord GOD, nor His Scripture. Such fools separated Father from His Son on the basis of His Holy Goodness, Righteousness, Mercy, Compassion, Justice, and Love, none of which they understand.
Talking about GOD Father as unjust and cruel GOD, certainly such people cannot be considered as Christians, they are fools and do not deserve GOD'S Love, Mercy, and His Salvation. They do not belong to GOD and never will. They also do not understand completely ignore the fact that GOD Father and Christ His Son Are One GOD and there is not any difference between Them, They Are the Same, with only one difference that the GOD Father is higher than His GOD Son.
So, insulting the Father of Christ, those fools also insulting and His Son Jesus Christ, and they have no clue what is coming to them!
The same thing applies and to those who do not take the whole Bible as the Word of GOD but doubt some Commandments, Passages, and Verses of the Bible as questionable in their context and meaning. Bible warns numerous times not to add or deduct anything from it (Deuteronomy 4.2, 12.32) (Proverbs 30.6) (Revelation 22.18-19), but does fool ever listen?
They are the people about whom James wrote in these two passages, they are double-minded and not trustworthy (26). It would be good if no one double-minded people will be in the church of GOD, because their doubt of the passages of the Holy Scripture can spread to others, and defile entire congregation made it worthless.
EXPECTATIONS
James 1.7
7. "Let not that man expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,"
This may look contradictory to many Words of GOD about receiving His Promises. The key is a word "anything." We ask many things from GOD for many different reasons, but only GOD knows what we actually need and what is actually good for us.
We received many things from GOD even without knowing it, and because of it we should always remember that then we ask GOD for anything, it is only He will decide to give us or to withhold it from us, because He knows better than we do what we need and what we do not need.
The same thing applies and for false teaching about Salvation, when some people claim that they already saved, just because they believe in GOD existence, or because of His Promise and His Grace alone, without any proof of fulfillment of any of His Conditions and Commandments.
DOERS AND HEARERS
James 1.22-25
Here James made excellent explanation and show huge difference between two types of Christians, passive and active. The same is also written and in other Books of the Bible in order to show us who is real and who is fake Christian in Jesus Christ. Such people pretend to be Christians, but they ignore the GOOD DEEDS in the Name of Christ, but already placed themselves in Heaven, without proving their Faith and Love for GOD by anything.
22. But prove yourselves doers of the Word (the Gospel) and not merely hearers who delude themselves.
23. If anyone is a hearer of the Word (the Gospel) and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror,
24. once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.
25. But one who looks intently at the perfect Law, the Law of Liberty (the Spiritual Commandments of the Law of Moses - the Gospel of Christ), and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man shall be blessed in what he does.
