Eldora, CO. Gunman Targeted Christians

BOULDER - Derik Bonestroo's confrontation with fellow workers at Eldora Mountain Resort appeared to be a well-planned scheme to kill co-workers who were not Christian, according to investigators from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.

One of the employees, April Wilson, told investigators that Bonestroo walked in dressed in black, carrying a gun, and fired into the ceiling, according to the documents. He then declared, "If you're not Chrstian, you're going to die," Wilson said. Employees then ran out the door.

Bonestroo fatally shot Brian Mahon, the resort's general manager. He later engaged in a gun battle with a sheriff's deputy, who wounded him. Bonestroo then committed suicide by shooting himself.

Bonestroo's cat was found in his home. It had been stabbed to death.

Another article states that when Bonestroo asked Mahon what religion he believed in, Mahon replied, "Catholic," then Bonestroo shot him once in the head and once in the chest, killing him.
