Emails written by Obama administration Department of Justice officials confirm reports the agency engaged in a systemic effort to funnel money to liberal advocacy organizations from settlements reached with big banks.

The documents, obtained by the House Judiciary Committee as part of an ongoing investigation, reveal the Obama Justice Department effectively skirted Congress’s budgetary authority by requiring that major financial institutions donate to a group of affordable housing nonprofits and legal advocacy organizations as part of settlement agreements resulting from predatory mortgage lending practices.

The internal DOJ documents represent the latest revelation in a two-year investigation spearheaded by House Financial Services Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte.

There seems to be no end to the corruption of the Obama administration.

They treated the U.S. Treasury as their personal piggy bank.

Unfortunately, I don't think any of them will pay for their crimes.

More Evidence Obama's DOJ Slush Fund Specifically Excluded Conservatives

Emails obtained by the Washington Free Beacon appear to show clearer evidence the Obama-era Justice Department sought to exclude conservatives from the corporate payouts widely criticized as a “slush fund” for left-wing groups.

The Free Beacon reports that, in discussing the proceeds from a major 2013 settlement with Bank of America and Citigroup, Principal Deputy Associate Attorney General Elizabeth Taylor and Associate Attorney General Tony West exchanged a series of emails. Among other things, they emphasize the importance of “not allowing Citi to pick a statewide intermediary like the Pacific Legal Foundation” because that group “does conservative property-rights free legal services.”

Much of the DOJ settlement money from these suits went instead to avowedly left-wing groups like the National Urban League and National Council of La Raza, now known as UnidosUS.

In 2015, Kimberly Strassel called the program “a scheme to undermine Congress’s spending authority by independently transferring dollars to President Obama’s political allies” in her Wall Street Journal op-ed. Shortly thereafter, Republicans in Congress tried unsuccessfully to rein in the Department of Justice

And then we have the Uranium One scandal. Obama, Holder, HRC, and James Comey ought to be tried for treason for damaging our national security by letting this deal go through.
