BREAKING: Epstein Confidante Ghislaine Maxwell Arrested, Sources Say
    By Eric A. Blair
    Published July 2, 2020 at 8:41am

She was arrested in New Hampshire on Epstein-related charges and is expected to appear in a federal court later today, the sources say. Spokespeople for the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan declined to comment.

The daughter of media baron Robert Maxwell, Ghislaine was a one-time girlfriend of Epstein’s and was at the high-flying investor’s side for decades. But she was also alleged to have helped Epstein groom teen girls for sex with the rich and powerful. One of those teens, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, leveled that charge against Maxwell in a 2015 defamation suit.

Epstein, a registered sex offender, was arrested last summer on new federal charges of exploiting dozens of underage girls in New York and Florida in the early 2000s. He attempted suicide in custody in late July, and then died after another suicide attempt in early August. Two of the guards tasked with monitoring Epstein now face federal charges for not properly supervising him before his death. Maxwell has been in the news lately. Bill Clinton allegedly had an affair with her, according to a new book.

“The nation’s 42nd head of state also repeatedly sneaked out to visit Maxwell at her Upper East Side townhouse, as detailed in this exclusive excerpt” from “A Convenient Death: The Mysterious Demise of Jeffrey Epstein,” by Alana Goodman and Daniel Halper, the New York Post wrote on in May.

Clinton, 73, has admitted that he took trips on the late pedophile’s so-called “Lolita Express” private jet but has steadfastly denied he visited Epstein’s Caribbean island, known as “Orgy Island,” where underaged girls were allegedly sexually abused, some by famous men.

The new book says Clinton carried on his affair with Maxwell elsewhere.

The relationship between Clinton and Maxwell was not confined to these overseas junkets. It continued in New York City, where Clinton on multiple occasions visited Maxwell’s own private townhome at 116 East Sixty-fifth Street, an $11 million pad that runs a touch below seven thousand square feet, much more modest than Epstein’s palatial townhome a few blocks north. (Maxwell purchased it in 2000 for a mere $4.95 million.)

I don't understand why she stayed here in America. Surely she must have known that the Feds were doing an investigation and that at some point she could get arrested. With her money she could have lived anywhere, especially in a country that didn't have an extradition treaty with the U.S.

I guess if she will agree to spill the beans and give names, dates, and places, testify in court, and jump through hoops for the feds they may offer her a place in the witness protection program.

With all that she knows, it may be that she feels safer in federal custody than loose on the planet, despite knowing that her deceased boss was killed while in federal custody.

I guess I will have to say to you what I say on Facebook every day.

"Where is the source for this information? Memes are not primary, secondary, and any kind of source."

She, in fact, did not say this or anything like this.

She was referencing a 1973 Senate bill that said this: "A person is guilty of an offense if he engages in a sexual act with another person, not his spouse, and (1) compels the other person to participate: (A) by force or (B) by threatening or placing the other person in fear that any person will imminently be subjected to death, serious bodily injury, or kidnapping; (2) has substantially impaired the other person’s power to appraise or control the conduct by administering or employing a drug or intoxicant without the knowledge or against the will of such other person, or by other means; or (3) the other person is, in fact, less than 12 years old."

Her issue was the gender-specific speech that seeming let women off the hook. She wanted speech to be such that it was clear that both men and women were to be held accountable for the treatment of those underage.

She did not author the bill - she was not a Senator. She wrote a report that showed gender bias in the penal codes that either seemingly denied women rights or let women off the criminal hook.

She, right or wrong, was crusading for gender specific speech in the penal codes.

“SEX BIAS IN THE U.S. CODE,” REPORT FOR THE U.S. COMMISSION ON CIVIL RIGHTS, APRIL 1977, P. 102, QUOTED IN “RUTH BADER GINSBURG’S FEMINIST WORLD VIEW,” THE PHYLLIS SCHLAFLY REPORT, VOL. 26, NO. 12, SECTION 1, P. 3. THE PARAGRAPH (FROM THE GINSBURG REPORT) READS AS FOLLOWS: “‘ELIMINATE THE PHRASE “CARNAL KNOWLEDGE OF ANY FEMALE, NOT HIS WIFE, WHO HAS NOT ATTAINED THE AGE OF 16 YEARS” AND SUBSTITUTE A FEDERAL, SEX-NEUTRAL DEFINITION OF THE OFFENSE. … A PERSON IS GUILTY OF AN OFFENSE IF HE ENGAGES IN A SEXUAL ACT WITH ANOTHER PERSON. … [AND] THE OTHER PERSON IS, IN FACT, LESS THAN 12 YEARS OLD.'”
