The invasion could never have happened if Bush had not given the order. Congress can approve, but it was Bush that had to give the order. After all he mislead everyone ... probably even himself. We know from his years in the White House he did not go easy on people who told him what he did not want to hear.

    From Crabby's OP link:
    ________________________________________________________
    What should I consider suspicious?

    People or groups who:

Provide identification that is inconsistent or suspect or demand identity “privacy”
Insist on paying with cash or uses credit card(s) in different names
Make suspicious comments regarding anti-US, radical theology, vague or cryptic warnings that suggests or appear to endorse the use of violence in support of a cause
Demonstrate interest in uses that do not seem consistent with the intended use of the item being purchased
Possess little knowledge of intended purchase items
Make bulk purchases of items to include:
    -Weatherproofed ammunition or match containers
    -Meals Ready to Eat
-Night Vision Devices; night flashlights; gas masks
    -High capacity magazines
    -Bi-pods or tri-pods for rifles
    _______________________________________________________________

The above would arouse my suspections.

Should we ignore those warning signs?

And you can prove all of this, I suppose.

Why do you think it's OK to lie about people you don't like ?

He is the commander in chief. I don't see how anyone can object to this statement of Crabtownboy's.

I think that Curtis was objecting to the other part of Crabby's statement:

"After all he mislead everyone ... probably even himself. We know from his years in the White House he did not go easy on people who told him what he did not want to hear."

I too find the above characterization of Bush to be objectionable.

What I object to is partisan hackery. Crabtownboy and many of his ilk have called this "Bush's" war. Like Bush did the whole thing himself, and is soley responsible for it.

It would be very hard to defend President Bush as he was the commander and chief that sought to send us to war.

Who gave the order to send the troops into Iraq?

In which administration was the Patriot Act passed that opened the door, unconstitutionally I believe, that US citizens could be detained without being charged?

Who signed into law the Patriot Act?

I have to agree with you. George bush was not a good president. In Texas as Governor about all he did was draw a paycheck and in the white house he sent us to war. Rick Perry is his poster child on steroids.

Another strawman. Demanding accountability from both sides is hardly defending anyone.

The U.N.. You have been shown this. Bush could not order troops anywhere. This was a U.N. deal. That's why we weren't the only nation there. You remember the other nations. Did Bush lie them into Iraq, as well ?

The second question, Clinton used part of it to put John Gotti in jail, justifying the wiretaps & other civil rights violations with the same language written into the Patriot Act. This, also, you have been shown.

Third...Senator Russ Feingold of Wisconsin was the only senator who voted against the Patriot Act on October 24, of 2001. Senator Landrieu (D-LA) did not vote

In the house 145 democrat representatives voted to pass the act.

In both the senate & the house, democrat opposition would have stopped the bill from ever getting to Bush's desk.

Why are you so eager to help the democrats wash their hands of this ?

LOL. An entire democrat congress became weak-kneed at the mere sight of Bush, and whimpered "we'll vote for war and the patriot act if you won't be mean to us !!!"

Meanwhile, Barney Frank was able keep Bush out of Freddie & Fannie all by himself.

"I voted for the war, before I voted against it" tells all we need to know about the liberal's attempts to weasel out of this.

I certainly agree that both parties hold some accountability. However if what President Bush did was a capitol offence he would-be executed and those on the other side would get probation.

Hmmm, that does not answer the question. It only poses another question and I do not see the relevance of that question to this discussion.

Why is it that some can never bring themselves to truthfully answer who gave the order for our troops to go into Iraq?

What Commander-In-Chief actually gave the order for our invasion of Iraq?

As you probably know, I'm not playing your stupid game. You can only blame Bush by ignoring history. I have put up numbers, actual facts. You have built strawmen.

Your irrational hatred for Bush renders you incabable of honest debate. Talk to me when you have repented.

But don't expect me to be quiet.
