    There has been much criticism of the performance of the very expensive F-22 Rapor. The program has been kept alive mainly through corporations donating funds to various politicians in their campaigns and then by politicians including funds as earmarks.


    Example:

    Also now with the technologically advanced RPVs the need for such an expensive piloted plane is reduced greatly. RPVs are much less expensive to produce and do not risk the life of pilots. Also they are much less expensive to oprerate and some can remain over target for up to 30 hours. They have been used quite effectively in Iran, Pakastan, Yeman, etc.


    Loran C is no longer needed as we now have GPS. Loran C began in WW II and has been a good navigation tool. There is no reason, other than political to keep it alive.
