As I said in the OP of my Genesis thread --I will be comparing some snips of the KJV with that of a modern version. This thread has nothing to do with NT issues. So please don't make any comment on that part of the canon.

A Review Of Some Examples

13:13 --KJV has "discomfited" which sounds funny today. "Overcame" is much more understandable.

22:30 --KJV has "with his dam." But the much older Wycliffe version has "with his mother."

28:8 --the KJV has "the curious girdle." The Geneva Bible has a much easier to understand "embroidered girdle."

32:32 --the KJV has "curious works." The NIV's rendering of "to make artistic designs" is much more clear for today's readers.
