I have not been to the VA in 6 years... At one time I used the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, CA but have been on Medicare ever since I qualified for it... I go to private doctor and haven't used VA services in ages... I just heard Trump signed a VA Health Plan, so those that use VA Health Services, what does it mean?... Should I drop my doctor and get a VA Health doctor?... Will I save any money if I change?... When I go to see the doctor my co-pay is $10.00 for a primary doctor and $25.00 for a specialist... Prescriptions are no cost or very little... I'm on United Health Care with A.A.R.P and have found no reason to go back to the VA... Those who go to the VA and use their health benefits, hospitals, doctors, prescriptions, will this change anything for you?... Those of us who don't what does it mean?... Should I sign up now or stay where I am?... I'm testing the waters!... Brother Glen:)

It could make a difference if you have a service connection injury or not.
I am also on Medicare also - with a SC injury (20%) - all I use is the VA.

I would go to the VA and sit down with a Customer Service Rep with all the details.

Salty... I do not have service connected injury, but I think sitting down with a Customer Service Rep might help... I feel my medical coverage is great and I don't see how the VA can improve it... Who knows?... Brother Glen:)

I use the VA but don't have a service-connected injury. As it stands, I'm on Medicare because of a disability. I find with the VA deductibles it's pretty much a wash between paying the VA straight up and going with a Medicare supplement which I have to pay a monthly charge plus whatever I get charged for prescriptions and office visits.

Up until recently all prescriptions were $8 for a 30 day suppl
Just recently - the VA has been using some generic drugs - and those are only $5.00

T-46 , Let us know how the visit with the VA goes.

My cousin gets all his drugs free from the V.A. They would be over $7K PER MONTH IF HE WERE PAYONG CASH AT A PHARMACY.

That's because the drugs are for a service connection condition.

I have one medication, I do not have to pay for as it is for my S/c

It must be because he is 100% disabled due to service connected condition. Half of the stuff he takes medicine for is not service related.
