Exxon CEO Advocates Emissions Tax

The chief executive of Exxon Mobil Corp. for the first time called on Congress to enact a tax on greenhouse-gas emissions in order to fight global warming.

In a speech in Washington, Rex Tillerson said that a tax was a "more direct, a more transparent and a more effective approach" to curtailing greenhouse gases than other plans popular in Congress and with the incoming Obama administration.

This tax will hurt only the poor. Exxon's CEO will never even feel it's effect. A poor family that must spend money for a car that is not up to the standard will be put under more stress just to provide for their families needs.

That's why we need much better public transportation!

From a corporate standpoint, it makes a lot of sense. It would be a lot more transparent, and...

It won't cost EXXON a penny.
