    Hey there,

    We are leaving today for a week of band camp in Russellville. I will be a guest clinician for one of the bands, and this is my first time to do anything like that. I have 8 rehearsals to do what most band directors do in a full nine week period during the school year, and I am very nervous. Please pray for me that I will do a good job and the concert on Saturday afternoon will go well.

    Thats great, Joseph!! What an honor it is to be invited as guest clinician! I know you will do a wonderful job, and I will pray for you this week as you are gone.

    I will be gone as well this week - we are going on a little vacation to the mountains (NC) where my mother is staying for a month. See yall later!

    Ah - memories of band camp in Russleville! I went to a band camp in Russleville when I was in the tenth grade (late 1970s) and that is where I started smoking cigarettes. I quit smoking about five years afterward when I ended up in the emergency room with asthma.

    I'am from Western NC. A little mountain town called Barnardsville. Its nestled right under the Blue Ridge Parkway 20mi. north of Asheville. Your absolutely right. Nowhere is as pretty as there.
    Hope your mom enjoys her stay as well as you tater tot.

    You must have been there during the Witherspoon days, right? I went in the late 80's, but never touched a ciggarette. I am sorry you did, but I am glad you quit.

    We ended up playing Mount Vernon March, African Marching Song, and 1812 Overture. The kids performed really well today and got a standing ovation. Great kids, BTW. They were all very well behaved, very committed, and very attentive. They would all show up for rehearsal every day 15 minutes before time to start and would be ready to start early every day. That made my job a whole lot easier. Thanks everyone for your prayers.
