Why is Israel and America blessed by God

Because Adam listened to Eve and ate from the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil" the ground became cursed, he would now have to cultivate the ground to survive. Among the desired crops "thorns and thistles" would grow making it difficult and frustrating to sustain himself (Gen. 3:18). This curse on the Land will be removed when Israel is restored during the Millennium; the pine tree will grow instead of the thornbush and the myrtle will grow instead of briers (Isa. 55:13).

Native to Israel is the myrtle, which is a symbol of God's favour and generosity towards Israel.

The only other country native to the myrtle is America, it grows along the coast in northern California and in southern Oregon. God has also shown favour and generosity towards America, no other nation has received a greater portion of God's blessings.

God delivered his people from Eyptian bondage and brought them "into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey" (Exo. 3:8).

"Milk and honey" is a symbol of Israel's bounty, He blessed his people with husbandry prosperity and abundant material resources.

In a scathing prophecy on America's destruction, she will no longer "enjoy the streams, the rivers flowing with honey and cream" (Job 20:17). Cream is richer than milk; God has given America a greater bounty of husbandry prosperity and abundant material resources than He did for Israel.

Why are these two nations favoured by God above the others? The answer is in God choosing the Israelites to composed the Word of God and choosing the Church in America to spread the gospel through out the world.

Israel's holy city is Jerusalem, what city in America compares to Jerusalem?

We have no holy city in America.

The destruction of these United States is nowhere to be found in the Scriptures.

The modern State of Israel has no connection to Old Testament Israel except for both being populated mainly by descendants of Abraham.

Myrtle trees in these United States have nothing to do with God having blessed our great nation.

God is sovereign and He decides whom to bless and when and where according to His own purposes.

How about Dallas? After all, the Dallas Cowboys have been known as "America's team", and some folks say, in jest of course, that they left that hole in Texas Stadium so that God can watch the Cowboys play. :D

Yesterday I made a purchase and got back in change a quarter of a particular state, the geographical image on the back gave further evidence of the similarity of this city to Jerusalem and its state to Israel. Also the US is geographically similar to the Middle East in its layout only greatly expanded.

US has temporarily replaced Israel as God's most favored nation; in the Millennium Israel will reign supreme over all nations.

What state is it?

Israel, Europe, America and all Christians are blessed by God to be a blessing to others.

NASB - Gen 1:28

God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.
NASB - Gen 12:2-3
And I will make you a great nation,

And I will bless you,

And make your name great;

And so you shall be a blessing;

And I will bless those who bless you,

And the one who curses you I will curse.

And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.
NASB - Galatians 3:8-9

The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "ALL THE NATIONS WILL BE BLESSED IN YOU." So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer.

I'm not disagreeing per se. But I always thought that America was blessed, in part, for supporting Israel - the apple of God's eye.

The other part is Christian ethics, morality, and theology. But the USA has let all of these aspects go. If we ever sever our ties with Israel, bad things will happen here.

Just a thought. God doesn't come consulting with me - ever.

Where is the Biblical proof that the USA is God's chosen people? Someone else might say Japan, South Korea or Denmark is with as much Biblical proof which of course is none.

No. Support of the modern political State of Israel is not necessary for anyone to be blessed by God.

America, as a nation, was blessed by God for over 170 years before there was even a modern political State of Israel in which the vast majority of the citizens do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God and have not come to Him in repentance and faith. I don't see how the United States would be blessed simply because we support a country where most of the people are in rebellion towards God.

The Church, composed of Gentiles and Jews are God's chosen people within the USA and the world. America sends out 95-97% of the missionaries/apostles who preach the gospel in the whole world. God has blessed this nation with prosperity and conditions conducive to this task.

Of course our nation has been blessed by God. And of course our nation can have that blessing taken away, just because our nation parts from God. And God will ultimately have His way with this world, regardless of how the USA lines up for Him or against Him.
