If you begin with the simplicity of the NT church model, and use it instead of the Roman Catholic model, we would have a more pure worship than what is customary today.

That didn't actually answer my question.

Find all the Catholic trappings in your church decor. Then look for it in your customs and routines. And then study the simplicity of the Acts house church where pastors worked for a living and were examples and role models for the flock. And so on .....

Actually my pastor does work for a living, and our church is basically a huge room with seats and a pulpit. Nothing else really there.

What does this scripture mean to you. BTW, I didn't bring up the topic of homosexuals here. Somebody else added it.

You're certainly free to interpret scripture as you see fit and so am I.

So are you saying that a sermon should be preached in Sunday School?

What I find much more beneficial, is for SS to be a time of answering questions, discussions, ect.

He's referring specifically to the Sermon on the Mount and Sunday School which has nothing at all to do with the topic we are discussing.

I don't think SS is biblical. The family should all hear the same thing with permission to ask questions as in any class room.

Find anything in the NT even remotely approaching the typical Church service today. When did the church become an evangelistic center?

I agree with you on the evangelistic center but you are all over the place. SS is not evangelism necessarily. It is training. Why do you believe this is not biblical? Chapter and verse please.

It does not exist in scripture. Why divide the family up when all can share the same teaching and ask questions as they arise?

Driving a car doesn't exist in Scripture. Wearing a suit doesn't exist in Scripture. Pianos don't exist in Scripture. You have to come up with something better than that.

You are correct. I don't see SS in Scripture. I don't see how it is a bad practice though when God's Word is being taught. How can we possibly stay that close to the practices done back then? So, I'm curious what your worship day looks like? I'm seriously not being disrespectful of your opinions. I truly want to do things the way the Bible tells us to do them. I grew up in a time with everything was done a certain way and if you didn't do it that way you were flat wrong. What I have learned over the years is that much of those worship practices are man made and they are preferences and not actually from the Bible at all. The Bible doesn't tell a man to wear a tie but for some people this is very important part of their Sunday attire.

How can we have faith in what we do if we can't find it is scripture? Faith comes by hearing the word.

Where is driving a car or eating a burger in Scripture? Where are tennis shoes in Scripture?
