heh heh heh

Freshman Democratic lawmaker Tim Mahoney of Florida won his congressional district in 2006 after incumbent Republican Rep. Mark Foley resigned weeks before the election. ABC News had found that Foley had sent inappropriate online communications to teenage males in the House Page program.
Now, just two years later, ABC News is reporting another scandal just three weeks before Election Day, this time involving Mahoney.
According to the investigative report released today, Mahoney paid a previously undisclosed $121,000 settlement to a former staffer, who was also his mistress, in order to stop her suing him for sexual harassment.
ABC reports that senior Democratic lawmakers, including Rep. Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, were aware of Mahoney’s personal troubles and were working to keep the matter quiet before Election Day, Mahoney staffers said.
However, a spokeswoman for Emanuel disputed that account and said there was only one brief conversation between the two lawmakers in 2007 when rumors of the affair reached Emanuel. The spokeswoman said re-election prospects were never discussed. “Upon hearing a rumor, Congressman Emanuel confronted Congressman Mahoney, told him he was in public life and had a responsibility to act accordingly and appropriately, and urged him to do so. They had no further conversations on this topic,” said the spokeswoman.....

You almost had it right.... Let me quote your statement changing a bit to make it correct:

"It is that culture of corruption in both the Democratic and Republican Parties"

They are both corrupt and until we see that and demand a difference we will get more of the same...

Fla. Congressman Reportedly Involved in 2nd Affair

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A married congressman who faces accusations that he had an affair with a former aide and paid her to keep quiet about it also was having an affair with a second woman around the same time, a person close to his campaign told The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Details of the second affair came hours after Democratic U.S. Rep. Tim Mahoney held a news conference to address a story, first reported by ABC News, that he had been involved with the former aide. Mahoney acknowledged he had caused "embarrassment and heartache" to his family but denied doing anything illegal.

Thats like a group of non-Christians saying EVERONE on the Baptist Board is a right wing Fundemantalist.

Its all in the perspective.

Our congressman is man of good moral valules, though there some political decisions I disagree with him. At a meeting of the county Conserative Party, I had the opportunity to ask Mr. Walsh a couple of questions. I wasnt fully satisifies, but....
At the time he was considering to run for re-election, but since has desired to retire.

No, it's not. It's my opinion that all of them are corrupt. Maybe they don't start out that way... maybe they don't mean to cross the line from time to time.. but they do, all of them at some point and time. Again, this is my opinion.

At least you didn't disagree about your comment about the Democratic party and my changes to that comment.

In most things I would agree... but my opinion is that being a politican makes you corrupt in at least some of your dealings over the course of your term just like we as humans are sinners. We don't mean to, some of us sin more than others, but never the less, we are all sinners.

I know some people are good and mean well, but I still think that in that style of work one can't doing it without some corruption.

I do understand your comment about perspective, but I am going to stand by my opinion of Washington.....

What you failed to recognize is that my comment is based on the campaign slogan for the 2006 election of the DNC which accused the GOP of having a culture of corruption. And your opinion on this matter is asinine.

No, what you fail to realize is that both parties have their fair share of corruption and to think otherwise... well let's use a word you seem to like to use... is asinine

That is your opinion, I have and will continue to stand by my opinion that all politicans are corrupt. The degree of corruption could be argued...

That is your opinion.. not a nice one since you're a pastor, but never the less, your opinion.

I don't think I am the clueless one... I reconize that both parties have corruption in them and I reconize that evene good people, when sucked into the world of Washington will do things they shouldn't... Corruption is everyone in everyone.

I can see we won't agree on any of this so I will leave you to your insults and name calling.

I know what I believe in and my opinions and I am sticking to this one.

First corruption is everywhere but not everyone is corrupt in the manner in which you have spoken. Second my statement was sarcasm based on the campaign slogan of the DNC in 2006 considering the consistent problems that comes out of politics as if they were above it.
