Perhaps that is what sells at that time of the day.
Morning Joe is no different - same time of day - different channel.
do you have any specifics or are you just wanting to bash them?
I don't have a TV in my home, so I don't get to watch FOX unless we're at our weekend home, but when I do see it, I've found it to be comparable to other morning news shows.

+1 I almost never watch TV.
It is a precusor to the immature journalism that defines their channel.
I was at a relative's house a few months ago and they would only watch FOXNews (because it is "fair and balanced.") In the mornings I had to ask them to turn it off because it was so badly done and so replete with sexual inneundo, misogyny, and gossip it was affecting the rest of my day.
I refuse to watch just about any television news anymore. Given my varous handheld devices, laptops and other means I am pretty well informed of the news without the ridiculous commentary.

Now I'm not saying this is a great documentary, or that I agree with a lot of the presuppositions that the makers have. I am saying that it is a valid point of view on the state of journalism at the channel and it brings in some interesting information.
Journalism in this country (and world) has taken a nose dive in recent years. It is deplorable how much it is reeks of isolationism, hypocrisy, misogyny, and sectarian views. I don't care much for the journalism out there. FOX and Friends is the tip of a very large iceberg imho.
This is the only beef I have with FNC. They like to tell the same stories over and over again that it is not even funny (eg--the story about the Northwest pilots who overflew Minneapolis because they were surfing the www on their laptops, and the story of the WW2 veteran in Virginia who's being persecuted by his homeowner's association because he won't take down his US flag outside his house). Also, I get tired of the same old commercials like Broadview Security, Denise Austin promoting Idaho potatoes (sounding like she is real hoarse), and Viagra.

martin, I used to listen to them on satellite radio when I only had a 10 minute drive and half of that was acquiring a channel. BUT once I started spending nearly an hour in the car each morning, they didn't last long. I thought there was too much chatter and not enough news.
It's the whole presentation. It seems rather juvenile to me. Sort of reminds me of a game show or radio morning show. I want serious news in the morning, not a game show. I'm usually stuck with News 14 Carolina. Of course they play the same thing every 30 minutes.

My post sort of picked on Fox & Friends (because it was on or just went off, I can't recall) but what I said about them can be applied (in different ways) to most of the other morning "news" shows. Maybe Fox & Friends is a bit more extreme than the others, but not by much. CNN about drives me crazy with their special interest stories. I want to scream at the tv, "enough with the political correctness already!". MSNBC is so left of center that it usually is a source of frustration with me anyway. Joe in the Morning is alright, but it is usually the same old people sitting around a table chatting, laughing, and fussing. Certainly not my idea of serious news.

I do not watch the morning show but if I remember correctly all the morning news shows use that format.
Yeah, I guess we could watch CBS, whose stellar journalism led Dan Rather to have to retire when it was found that he fabricated a news story in order to influence an election.
Or maybe NBC, who's journalistic integrity was through the roof when they got sued by GM for shoving explosives up the tailpipe of a truck and then claiming that GM products explode and are unsafe.
Perhaps he's thinking of ABC who, in a fit of true journalistic objectivity did a two hour Easter special on the life of Christ and didn't interview even one Christian theologian or cite one Christian source, only had a bunch of Jesus Seminar hacks on for two hours to denounce conservative Christianity and the reliability of the Bible.
Or maybe one of the cable channels. I mean, there's always CNN, which calls itself the "most trusted name in news", but which had a reporter actually arguing with the person she was interviewing and promoting Oba-mao's policies live on the air.
Or could he be thinking of MSNBC, which is such a joke that even retired NBC patriarch, Tom Brokaw, has condemned them as a left wing propaganda factory.
