Fox News Posts Fake Baltimore Riot Photo

If you are like thousands of others, you have no doubt seen an iconic photo of Baltimore burning. The image began circulating throughout social media after a local Fox affiliate in Memphis, Tennessee apparently first ran it. Some other mainstream media outlets even shared the image, using it with headlines that said “Baltimore is Burning” and referenced a “purge”.

The only problem is it wasn’t from Baltimore.

That’s right, the image was taken from Venezuela, not Baltimore. But for those who accepted Fox’s rendition of the story uncritically, the image became burned into their minds as being a scene of devastation in Baltimore.

Say it ain't so! Guess they have to keep a certain narrative going. And whose interests could possibly be served by this?

URGENT - FOX News Caught Using Fake Video Of Riots HA, HA!

News bulletins around the world have been following Russia's election rallies. But one channel stands out - America's Fox News has been showing streets ablaze, violent clashes and firebombs thrown at security officers, but with one major problem - the images are not from Russia, they're from Greece!

EPIC MEDIA FAIL: Fox News Caught Faking CPAC Ron Paul Reaction Video

Basically what fox did in an interview with Dr.Ron Paul is take the straw poll announcement from CPAC 2010 where Mitt Romney supporters loudly booed the announcement of Paul's win and used that footage and represented it as the straw poll announcement of CPAC 2011.
Not surprised they would stoop this low.

Slimy Baltimore FOX Affiliate Caught Faking "Kill a Cop" Protest Chant

Last night, Baltimore's WBFF aired a video of protesters chanting "kill a cop"– evidence, it claimed, of murderously violent rhetoric on the part of anti-brutality protesters in Washington, D.C. The only problem? The protesters weren't chanting "kill a cop" at all, and there's video evidence to prove it.

My question is was there anything reported by this lone affiliate that was false. News agencies have a habit of using stock photos when no photos are available. Even if this is true, of which we do not yet know, it is a mountain out of a molehill.

Has Brian Williams claimed credit for putting out the fires yet?

Brian is probably still stinging from having his corporate sponsored colleagues scapegoating him. It was a grand spectacle for awhile though wasn't it?

Shame on you for making a mountain out of a molehill and showing that FOX and its affiliates lack the same credibility as those liberal outlets.

Actually this is just one example among many.

My question is would you have accepted it as an image of Baltimore because Fox News reported it as such?

True. Stock photos are used all the time.

However, in the interest of jourrnalistic honesty (if it still existsts at all),there should have been a disclaimer.

I do not watch the Fox affiliate as I do not live in that area so I have never seen that image. Also, when images are posted in news articles such as this I pay little to no attention to them. Carpro is right they could have made a disclaimer but again this is a mountain out of a molehill. You want it to be a big deal because you are looking for a reason to pin a criticism on all of Fox News and to bash the corporate media. Its what you do.

I do not care one way or the other as it is an affiliate in an area in which I do not live.

Poncho I believe that once again you have shown that things aren't what they seem . And that as much as folks think there's a difference in liberal vs conservative outlets, there really is a behind the scenes effort to take things in a certain direction by ALL of the media. And it's not coincidental just as it isn't coincidental that Dems and Repubs are in cahoots behind the scenes.

No Rev you got it all wrong again dude, I'm not looking for reasons to criticize Fox News at all. Fox News keeps handing them to me.
