Because it might upset the fans, just as it should. Hiding it won't make it go away. It just makes the network complicit.

I love watching the fights. They should show them.

This is only being done by Fox to protect their investment in the NFL. Showing the anthem and players disrespecting it and the flag only makes the patriots watching get mad and disgusted and turn the game off. No consumers and the advertisers are wasting their money.
