Many do not know that you do NOT have to own a KINDLE to read Kindle books.
One of many free books is the ESV cross-referneced Bible by Crossway

The Nook software is also free (http://www.barnesandnoble.com/u/nook-for-pc/379002322/), as are downloads of the ESV and HCSB. (The NET without notes is 99 cents from Barnes & Noble and free from bible.org.)
