Free meals for Vets

Unless you are required to show proof of present or past military service, then any adult can go to a restaurant and claim to be a veteran or still in the military--even if they're not or have never been.

I am a veteran, but I am not destitute. Thanks just the same, but I can readily pay for my meals.

You miss the whole point. This is not because someone is destitute. This is simply a way for these businesses to say THANK YOU for serving our country!

Just as anyone could take advantage of any situation. It is a time to honor Vets, not pass moral judgment on people.

It's really a win win because most will bring their spouses and other family members with them and they ain't eaten for free.

Only the meal is free - have to pay for your beverage - unless its H2O
