FRUIT UNTO DEATH vs LIFE IN CHRIST

To insist that Christ died for everyone is a denial that his death satisfied God's law and justice in the stead of those he represented. (Galatians 2:21, Hebrews 7:18-22, Acts of the Apostles 20:28, Romans 3:25, Romans 5:9, Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14, Colossians 1:20, Hebrews 9:11-28, Hebrews 10:19, Hebrews 13:12, 1 Peter 1:18-19, Revelation 1:5, etc.)

To insist that Christ died for everyone is a denial that the child of God is accepted in the righteousness of Christ alone. (Philippians 3:9, Romans 3:24-26, Romans 4:5-8, Romans 8:10, Romans 10:4, Romans14:17, 1 Corinthians 1:30, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Ephesians 1:6, James 2:23, 2 Peter 1:1, etc.)

To insist that Christ died for everyone is a denial that faith is a gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8, Matthew 11:25-27, Luke 10:21-22, Romans 1:16-17, 1 Corinthians 2:9-10, 2 Corinthians 4:6, Ephesians 1:17-18, 2 Peter 1:3, etc.)

These denials of Christ's person and work are the soup of the day at most every religious service, yet they are demonstrably unscriptural, antichrist and, therefore, fruit unto death.

The death of Christ actually accomplished redemption, whereby God's inflexible law and justice was eternally satisfied in the stead of every soul he represented. These individuals only, based on nothing in them, were chosen in Christ from eternity according to God's good pleasure alone. His death satisfied God and no man is ever called to complete that satisfaction.

The death of Christ established a righteousness wherein every soul represented in his obedience unto the death of the cross is accounted to be the very righteousness of God, in him. We never seek to present our own righteousness as any part of our acceptance before God, but rest in Christ's righteousness ALONE.

The faith of God's elect is a gracious revelation of who Christ is and what he accomplished in our place. Faith is a gift of God, given through the Holy Spirit which points us to Christ ALONE as our only hope of eternal life. He alone satisfied the handwriting of ordinances which was against us and forever remains, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

    Titus 3:5-7 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
    Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

I don't know Dyess, but he should have read the Bible before attempting to write the article.

None of his proof passages state that Chriat died in the stead of others.

A bigger issue is his change of Scripture to state that Jesus satisfied the law and justice instead of Jesus being the fulfillment of the law and the embodiment of justice.

As it stands the article is, biblically, a false teaching (it alters Scripture to make a case not presented in God's Word....it "fails the test").

He has been a pastor and fills in when the pastor of Grace Baptist Church of Ruston is out of town.

    Take a listen:

I don't mind preachers believing the OP article. And I didn't mean that he was a false teacher.

I just mean that the teaching in that article is not biblical.

I have trouble accepting a pastor after they have changed words.....even one word...of Scripture to support a point.

I'm sure tge preacher is a good man and was just preaching his understanding. It's just that one statement that fails the test.

Kenny only quoted three verses at the end of the article, the rest are references to be looked up. So I don't understand what you are griping about.

    I am not griping.

I just know that there are no verses in the Bible that state Jesus satisfied justice, or that Jesus is our representative in our stead.

My observation is that the pastor preached his own understanding rather than God's Word.

I don't hold it against him because I have done the same. I actually preached the exact same message. My realization that I had preached my own understanding rather than God's Word came later.

Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Yes. I know those passages well.

I agree we are justified by the blood of Christ.

I also agree that He was made to be din for us.

I agree that through Him we escape the coming wrath.

But my point was that no passage speaks of Jesus as a representative in our stead (that last part is added to Scripture) and that no passage states that Jesus satisfied Justice.

Those are theological understandings. They are not actually in God's Word (they are "extrabiblical").

Yes, there are. Once again, for emphasis:

Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

You really cannot see where those words are added, can you?

I get it. It is very difficult to not to "lean on our own understanding". I wish we could all start anew in our theologies and simply abide by God's Word. But I know thus is very difficult with all of these traditions out there. It is much easier to simply pick a camp and devote ourselves to it.

But your post actually proves my point.

Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

In those verses you see that Jesus is a representative in our stead. You see that Jesus satisfied justice.

Those are not actually in this "proof text" that you post for a second time. BUT you see them.

I suggest you do some study on justification.

Look, Jon, all I can do present the gospel of Christ on this board. God is the one who has to open the eyes of any of His elect who might be on this board who are not yet regenerated by the Holy Spirit and to give them understanding, according to His timing, be it while they are on this board or elsewhere.

I present the gospel of Christ to all, here and elsewhere, as I do not know whom God has elected nor whom God has reprobated before the world began.
