At the fruit bar, what would be your first choice?

Whatever is freshest... except for apples. Can't stand apples. Honeydews aren't my favorite either, although I'll eat them.

An orange picked at a grove (Florida or California) at the peak of ripeness is a small miracle of flavor. A fresh ripe and cold cantaloupe is a delight on a hot summer day. Grapes are good any time.

From the choices offered, I'll take the grapes. But I'd rather have strawberries. :)

I'd rather have strawberries, or bananas, but the bananas always have a sweet glaze on them, so I don't eat them in resturants. In the summer I go for the watermellon, or maybe a little honey dew. But from the list I'd prefer oranges, I just can't eat a whole one, the acid hurts my stomach.

I keep apples in my fridge all the time and occasionally buy green seedless grapes when they're on sale.

    green seedless grapes

Now if there had been peaches, pears, and plums, I might have voted differently. :)

I've eaten custard and apples, but I've never heard of custard apples. I've also never heard of fejoia or lychees; neither has my computer since it just underlined both of those as being misspelled--or maybe they are misspelled?

    I don't know what a fruit bar is .....

Of the choices, my favorite to eat is either honeydew or grapes. Grapes win out as my favorite fruit, since you make wine from grapes  .

I was thinking of a fruit bar such as Frische's. Their fruit and salad bar is pretty vast.
I'm going with honeydew as my favorite.

I'd have to say I prefer strawberries, pineapple, raspberries or even bananas. (I love pineapple, but my grandmother did too so I guess it runs in the family.)

Lychees are some sort of 'fruit' served in Chinese restaurants. They're whitish and round. I tasted one once (the operative word in that sentence is 'once'.)

No don't have them. We tend not to have a lot of chains down here (which is probably a good thing). I much more prefer the local places compared to Applebee's, etc.

Not here, either. Never heard of them. Maybe there are just in Ohio or in that area. There are lots of eating places that do not cover all or even most parts of the country.

I'll be dog gone! Frisch's is a huge chain here ... I just figured they were everywhere! On the other hand, I've noticed they're called something like "Big Boy" in TN, no Frisch notation on the Big Boy. Here's what our local Big Boys look like. It's salad/fruit/soup bar heaven ... :)

There used to be a Big Boy around here but it's been gone for some time.

I have seen Big Boys in other parts of the country, but not many. And one were ever called "frisch's."

I like the cantaloupe cut in half to make a bowl that holds thin sliced apples and orange wedges with pealed grapes mixed in, all this with a light topping of fresh grated coconut sprinkled on top.
