I didn't ask a question. You did.I have studied Torah with the rabbi and Hebrew but only to have a better understanding of the Jewish religion. I was going to marry a devout Jewish woman during my college years and part of that marriage contract was to have the children be raised Jewish... but I couldn’t get past it all. Since then, Christ has become my Lord and Savior... it is he that I follow. And praise God, my dear wife is a believer too.
Does that answer your question?
Typical goy answerI didn't ask a question. You did.

No. I was raised as a Catholic. But you were not raised as a Jew?
I think you said or implied something about "origins"Typical goy answer
Come on, you wanted to know if I thought myself part of the “Chosen Race”
However you dropped the conversation about Primitive Baptists quite early. I am still curious why you mentioned that at all. Care to elaborate?
Gotta go, off to church...Typical goy answer

Within that broad umbrella under Fundamentalism though would be grouped the likes of Reformed, Evangelical,, Dispy, etc?I see both sides (Well, of course I'm a Mugwump).
Yes the term "fundamentalist" has an association with radical Islam.
however I am a Christian Fundamentalist and I don't have the smallest inkling to chop off someone's head (although I will protect my family from those who do want to chop off heads).
No, rather most of us believe in the one true Church of Christ, the Church Universal, within its ranks being all of the saved in the NC!Yes, I know. Most on here believe in the oxymoronic unassembled assembly.![]()
Would get probably same response as for term Baptists, as being those who are right wing religious radicals that hate Gays, minorities, and women, and are Islamiphobes!Yet, many who call themselves "Christians" are not truly born again - think Mormors, ect.
Going back to the OP - how about this week - talk to five people you know -(outside of church) and ask them their definition of a fundamentalist?
One big problem seems to be when a church or an individual places personal convictions /preferences elevated to the place of doctrines!I believe we abstain from the appearance of evil in several aspects. For instance, while drinking a beer is not in itself a sin, very few, if any, Baptists will publicly drink beer. Same with "cussing". While the only real cursing is wrongly using God's name or title, or verbally condemning another to hell, or badmouthing the Holy Spirit, we don't use the common euphemisms for certain body parts, elimination of body wastes, or the common names for those wastes because doing so could cause another to "stumble", believing such things to be OK because they saw/heard a known Christian doing it, despite their own consciences saying it's wrong.
That's NOT like "eating food possibly offered to idols", etc.

As long as the scriptures call those activities a sin!Now is it wrong for a church to place a highter standard on teachers and leaders to refrain
from some of these preferences such as dancing, drinking, movies, smoking, ect -
As long as the scriptures call those activities a sin!
I will use alcohol for an example. If being involved in such activity - might lead a weak Christian down the wrong path - would be be a sin?
