With the total number of aircraft falling from about 5100 to about 4500, the plan fails to increase our Air Mobility capacity. We have about 220 C-17's and if we need to rapidly supply a NATO country or Taiwan, we will be in the soup. Missiles from F-35's may have obviated the need for A-10's, but the need for more transport into combat zones has increased significantly.

Our 5 year plan should double our C-17 fleet or its replacement fleet.

Since our budget plan will reduce the number of F-16 C/D planes from about 840 to about 615, we should be able to send 100 of them right now, today to Ukraine.

We could also send 50 or so F-15 Eagles, if they could use them to establish control of the air over their country.
