    I don't put too much stock in legends and myths about the Popes, and there are many. It is interesting to note that Peter the Roman was not given a number; therefore, there could be any number of Popes between Benedict XVI and the last Pope.

    Futhermore, I am saddened by the amount of anti-Catholicism on this board. Whether you agree with Catholic teachings or not, the man's life is being threatened. Among the many differences between Catholicism and Islam, the Catholic Church teaches that Jesus is the Son of God and there is a Trinity. The Qur'an denies both.

    I agree with you there, JFox, I, too, am saddened by the amount of anti-Catholicism on this board. It should not be.

    When it comes to beheadings and murders from islamofascists, it matters not whether one is Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, or Jewish - we are all considered infidels and we are all being persecuted and killed all over the world by these people. We should stand together united against these evil beasts.

    Gee! All I suggested was that he switch from one false religion to another to save his neck. It is not like it would make that big a difference from where he is. He's used to compromise and appeasement, isn't he? :smilewinkgrin:

    Hatred in that part of the world is eons old . . .

    We dealt with racism that was under a century or two old and we (USA) are still dealing with some after effects.
