Romney rode a 50-46 Gallup advantage into last night’s presidential debate, and polling after the fiercely fought showdown is forthcoming. In the meantime, the latest poll from Gallup taken from October 10-16 shows that Mitt Romney extended his national lead to 51-45 among likely voters.

The second presidential debate reaction is likely not decisive enough to significantly change the shift in Mitt Romney’s favor, although the president may have “slowed the bleeding.” The president’s aggressive performance may play well with the liberal Democrat majority of pundits and the liberal minority of voters, but undecideds will likely not be compelled by it to vote for the president.
