Your lying, I never said that. I only said what looks innocent enough leads to the puppy growing into the dog that inherits a gambling addiction. I never made any reference to "penny-anti" anything.
Again you're lying, I am not a liberal religionist, anyone can see that by any of my posts; you, on the otherhand, cannot be attributed the claim of being anything else.

You may straddle the fence of name-calling, but you then have become a privileged character that is a shame and disgrace of anything being called Baptist. I have shame, but not as you like to believe, I don't gamble, not in any sense of it, but why you devise such tactics to approve of gambling as some sort of recreation, but deny ever participating makes you look rather hypocritical in any of your replies on the subject.

If one is succumbing to lust in the activity, then the activity for that person is a sin. However, that does not make it lustful for all who engage in the activity.

I ask again, what of entering a free drawing or playing Monopoly at McDonald's? They are based on chance with a questionable outcome.

Indeed. However, you have grossly falied to make a case for claiming that all who gamble are not living by faith.

Again, free drawings? Charity raffles? McDonald's monopoly?

Do date, not one single person has been able to refute my position. It is liberal and anti-scriptural to say that gambling is a sin (though, to say that abuse thereof is scripturally forbidden would be a correct scriptural assessment).
It is you et al that are looking foolish. I have been able to categorically and consistently refute every single one of your claims and assertions. If that makes me look foolish, so be it. But I will not have you pervert scripture by adding to it.
Use scripture. It will give a result likewise with you.

I will no longer reply to your drool. You are simply an antagonist. You have been repeatedly reproved. Yoyu are using an art of deception to approve of something completely against definition and coupled by Scripture. To approve, you must redefine simple defintions and therebyadd complexity and obscurity rendering nothing more than confusuion. I have not added one thing to any Scripture as you persistently accuse. You should really decide to analyze your attitude with the acceptance of subtility in your manner. You continually makes false accusations and twist every thought into a exagerated composure of something you think to be intelligence, all the while being deceived by your own devices. You can only "refute" any of my statements by a deluded concept of thought.

    May God Bless You.

You said that playing a card game for fun is fine.
Scripture doesn't forbid gambling, in and of itself. You're adding to scripture when you claim that gambling is a sin. That's liberal religionism.
Wow, talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Anyone who searches the bulk of your past posts will find that your abundant belittling of other posters, coupled with consistent self-righteousness, is your modus operandi.
Interesting. You fail to make your claim ont eh topic, so let's see if you can rattle the poster personally.
Interesting. You, prior, accused me of being a gambling addict (a post that you have not retracted, and certainly don't expect you to). And now you're upset that I don't gamble. You're implying that the fact that I don't gamble somehow affects my credibility on the topic.

Odd. Then again, selfrighteousness is frequent in your posts.

I don't really want to argue this anymore but I was just wondering if anyone could guess what Jesus' "recreation budget" might have been?

Jesus was obviously familiar with contests and rest and recreation, although I'm sure he did not spend as much time doing it as much as we do it.

However, try going to a football game or the Olympics today and see how much it costs.

Given that as a litmus test, some will falsely presume that I sinned by taking vacations in Walt Disney World, Hawaii, and San Diego last year (my total expenditures last year on vacations was about $6000).

A few years ago my employer sent me to a location in rural England for three weeks. One Sunday I was having lunch at a pub when the church across the street adjourned and many of those in attendance walked across to the pub and ordered lunch, complete with pints of beer before, during, and after. Any comments, SAMPLEWOW?

A terrible testimony for any christian to be seen at a bar drinking beer.

How is that supposed to reach the lost?

Heheh! I'm by no means a wealthy man, but I've been blessed with the gift of frugality, which has allowed me to save money for such things.
Based on what? Not on scripture. I personally believe that in many cases, it's probably a bad witness, but as a rule, it's not automatically a bad witness in all circumstances.

Oh good, we need to beat this topic into the ground some more. We hit alcohol, women preaching, and are wrapping up gambling, so the next topic on the rotation is women wearing pants--the ice has been broken in the Fundamentalist forum, but we really need another half-dozen threads before we can retire that topic and move on to discussing contraception once more. No one commented so I thought I would quote myself.

    John. Any thoughts on this?

Wonder what Jesus did with any funds He may have "saved up"?

I responded to this post earlier. Perhaps you had not seen it:

Given the "vacation funds" as a litmus test, some will falsely presume that I sinned by taking vacations in Walt Disney World, Hawaii, and San Diego last year (my total expenditures last year on vacations was about $6000).

Oops, point taken. I think my response still applies, though.

I think Judas would be the one to ask; he was in charge of the money...
