Gatherings?

I Cor. 16:2
...that there be no gatherings when I come.

 

LOL, I am assuming you are being humorous with this verse selection, because we all know that's not what it's talking about

 

My preference for the word "gathering" stems from the formality of the word "service." I mean, it really doesn't matter to me either way, but to me, the word "gathering" comes across as a group of people spending time together for a common purpose, whereas "service" implies a formal meeting of an organization.

But I'm cool either way I guess. Some folks would have a cow if we changed the word to "gathering."
