    OPTIONS:
    1) Echo's of the Trinity
    2) Royal Plural
    3) God was speaking to the Divine Council (Ps 82:1; 89:5-7)

Though 1. is probably the least likely. Christians like to seize upon the apparently plural form of Elohim to make a case for the Trinity, but this is, at best, an anachronism, i.e., reading something into the text based on later revelation.

The Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges at BibleHub refers to 6 explanations that have been given by various people for various reasons:

    i. The 1st person plural is a reference to the Trinity.
    ii. A relic of polytheism.
    iii. The plural of Majesty.
iv.The “plural of the fulness of attributes and powers.”
    v. The plural of Deliberation.
vi. That God is here addressing the inhabitants of heaven.

Point taken. One man's anachronism is another man's progressive revelation.

Nonetheless, I do know how to read the literature on the topic, which is extensive. The literature is replete with examples of those who reject Elohim as verifying the Trinity. Folks like Chrysostom, Jerome, Augustine, Calvin, Luther and Gill, for example.

You can thank Peter Lombard for popularizing the Elohim-equals-Trinity view.

I admit I may be wrong. But I cannot think, from reading the literature, that it is a slam dunk that Elohim or "let us" prove a plurality in the godhead.

I always appreciate humility in one's beliefs that are not crystal clear in the Scriptures. I would say I'm surprised at your attitude, but that would be a lie.
