    1. Do you approve or disapprove of the way George W. Bush is handling his job as president?

    2. Do you approve/disapprove strongly or somewhat?

It's certainly inconsistent compared to the Washington Post / ABC poll but not surprising considering some of the beliefs on this board. The post poll had 1,000 surveyed and we're only at 21 so would be nice to see greater participation to get a better idea.

    _________National Poll - BB Poll
    Approve Strongly - 17% - 29%
    Approve Somewhat - 16% - 33%
    Disapprove Somewhat - 14% - 19%
    Disapprove Strongly - 51% - 19%

OK, that raises a good question...has anyone on this board EVER been polled concerning the President's approval ratings?

I agree with Mark, I am ready for a change in the White house. However, looking at the hopefull canidates I am discouraged. While I am unhappy with Bush I don't see anyone running who would be better.

What this poll and others fail to consider is the reasons why people are disatisfied with President Bush. Yes I am very unhappy about the situation in Iraq. But I believe we need to get the politicians out of the fight, let the army win and then get out. Pulling troops out and admitting defeat and failure only strengthens out enemy.

I wish President Bush would come out stronger against abortion and illegal immigration. In short I wish he was a conservative. His disaproval rating is not because he is too conservative but because he is too liberal.

I have been polled quite a bit prior to elections, but never a general poll regarding presidential approval ratings.

I too have been polled several times over the years. As a person who voted for this Bush twice, if there were numbers below zero approval, that is exactly what I would give him. This nation cannot stand four more years of an inept, pseudo conservative. We have got to get someone to balance the budget, someone who knows how to run a war, someone with leadership, and most important, someone who truly believes what he or she says, and acts on it, not just to garner Christian votes.

Wow. Almost 50-50 on a very conservative board loaded with fundamental Baptists. It makes it really hard to believe what Richard Land said about his approval rating among Southern Baptists being better than 80%.

It is good to know that, among the evangelical, conservative Christian community, there are people who have good political sense.

The Iraq situation wouldn't have been so bad had the President listened to his Military advisors now it may be a situation of too little too late. I do disagree that pulling out is admiting defeat, we have accomplished all that is reasonable. The stability of Iraq will depend on the willingness of people of that country wanting peace with one another, we can't force it upon them.
My greatest concern is that we will surrender our sovereignty to Mexico, they have way too much influence in our country's direction.
