The way I see it, we can't tell if we are the cause or not so it's best to be safe then sorry. There are environmentalist on both sides of the equation and they only common thought is worming is going on. Some say it's normal weather patterns and others believe man caused it. Some say as the polar caps shrink in the north they grow in the south.
What we need are scientist and environmentalist who aren't politically biased in their findings but until we find one I guess the jury will remain out.
Right...we should wreck our economy and destroy freedoms, all in the name of junk science.
If a "scientist" comes out and says that something is for sure, definitely happening...and it is shown that they have ignored/trampled upon/circumvented the Scientific Method...why on earth should they be given any credence?
Many that have spoken out against manmade global warming have used a more complete body of evidence:
- Solar data (conveniently ignored by MMGW folks);
- Data from other planets (also ignored);
- Evidence (albeit secondhand, since no numbers exist) of previous cooling/warming trends that are obviously independent of man's influence (also ignored...see a pattern here?);
- Common sense and rational ideas (have you seen some of the ridiculous predictions & threats made by the warmbots? Good grief...).
Of course, it appears that you have the mindset of, "well, there are two sides and they disagree; so obviously, they both have agenda, and cannot be trusted."
I honestly don't know what one can do with someone of your mindset. You have pre-judged all to have bias, and so you side with the crowd that is the most alarmist.
If there are enough like you around...then we can all say goodbye to some contents from our bank accounts, many personal freedoms, and numerous modern conveniences (unless we are in the "privileged" Algore-type class)...all based upon shrill claims of non-science, and the gullibility of the easily frightened.
