The devil as well... missed out on everlasting righteousness.

    Rom 5
17 For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. 18 So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men. 19 For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous

Christ did what the great messianic prophecy of Daniel 9 predicted He would do.

though "joking" is some form of "bible study" for some --- I prefer Bible "facts"

    1. all Apocalyptic time lines use day-for-year.
    2. all Bible timelines are contiguous timelines. whether they are apocalyptic or not.

These two rules hold in all cases.

24 `Seventy weeks are determined for thy people, and for thy holy city, to shut up the transgression, and to seal up sins, and to cover iniquity, and to bring in righteousness age-during, and to seal up vision and prophet, and to anoint the holy of holies. Young's Literal Translation

seventy weeks. 490 days... 490 years. A contiguous timeline just as Dan 9 starts off with the 70 years of Jeremiah which is a contiguous timeline.

The probation for Israel was ended at the end of that 490 year timeline.
Christ brought everlasting righteousness -- read Romans 5:17-19
Christ ascended to heaven and began His Ministry in the Heavenly Sanctuary Heb 8:1-5
Christ caused sacrifices and offerings to cease - Hebrews 10:4-12

less joking... less fiction... more Bible fact.

    Heb 10
4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. 5 Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says,

Sacrifice and offering You have not desired,
    But a body You have prepared for Me;
6 In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have taken no pleasure.
7 “Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come
(In the scroll of the book it is written of Me)
To do Your will, O God.’”

8 After saying above, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have not desired, nor have You taken pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the Law), 9 then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first in order to establish the second. 10 By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; 12 but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,

The Holy Spirit is God. Does He command disobedience?

Once you are on a mission to avoid the Acts 17:11 "sola scriptura" testing of all doctrine and tradition (as we also see in Mark 7:6-13) then not too long before "commanding disobedience to the Word of God" is exactly how you begin to view God.

Will reign. Yes. The kingdom still needs to come to earth, not just to our heart.

But you can't. Anyone that claims God told them to do things contrary to Scripture is talking out of their hat.

Not for those of us who believe the holy spirit was guiding the council of Ephesus....then again, the council of Ephesus approved of Marian devotion, which was never condemned in scripture

Wrong. No council claimed to hear God tell them to do something against scripture.

Having read this thread in its entirety, what I would suggest to you is that even the Catholic Church, when trying to adopt a tradition not specific to Scripture, probably still tried to maintain harmony with what was in Scripture. It is pretty clear your intent is to defend Oral Tradition and to deny that men must adhere to Scripture. Like most atheists, you actually present a derisive attitude towards God and His Word, whether you know it or not. So what I would suggest to you is that you test your theology against what the Word of God actually states.

The first thing I would ask you is this: do you submit to the Doctrine of Christ Himself? If so, then you must surely know that you must be born again, acccording to His teaching, so I ask you...

...are you a born again believer and thus translated into the Kingdom of God?

If yes...how were you born again?

If no...why are you even here? Your icon say "seeking Christ," are you? Or is religious effort good enough for you?

    God bless.

Yes! He can invalidate your brown Scapular!

This is something worn over the shoulders of the Catholic.
The Carmelites, a religious order of the RCC, created it long
    after
    the Scriptures were completed.

Instead of relying by faith on Christ alone, they created it so
that anyone wearing it (could, AFAIK, not need Last Rites)
and, regardless of what they had done in their lives, would avoid
"the Fires of Hell," and go to Purgatory.

In Purgatory, the Catholic could be released to heaven only after
some innumerable amount of prayers by living people, prayers
by the heavenly saints, and masses held.

In an early PM to Matt, I told him that the brown Scapular was
equivalent to the Protestant Eternal Security, Once Saved, Always Saved
doctrine. I was gravely mistaken. There is a Scriptural warrant for this doctrine.
But none for this Catholic tradition.

I challenge Matt to reply to this post publically, not by PM.

I don't have faith in the brown scapular, but I do wear one.... I believe the grace of God can work through an inanimate object... Scripture shows this to be true like the Miracles work through the a mantle of of Elijah or the woman who grabbed the cloth of Christ... But I don't believe a brown scapular will save me from hell. But I believe God's grace can work through it

I was born again, because I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, received the gift of tongues, accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and Jesus Christ lives Within Me... I am washed in his blood... As far as East is from West, my transgressions have been placed from me

Does the Pope and the RCC embrace Pentecostal or Charismatic "Catholics"?

    Since when?

Most Catholics rely on the Sacraments to be saved, not a born again experience.

I rely on the grace of God to be saved, not sacraments... I don't know what the Pope thinks about charismatic Catholics

When did I ever say I was Catholic? I said I pray the rosary and believe the holy Spirit was guiding the council of Ephesus... I didn't say I was Catholic

I was confirmed and sealed in The Holy Spirits...... Also, I had some charismatic Catholics lay their hands on me, and I received the gifts of the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues, I received Jesus into my heart as Lord and savior, old things passed away and it felt like I was a new creation, covered in the blood and armor of Jesus
