MILWAUKEE — Even the brewing industry is starting to go flat in the worldwide economic slump.

SABMiller PLC, the London-based brewer of Grolsch, Miller Genuine Draft and Peroni Nastro Azzurro lagers, said on Thursday its beer shipments fell unexpectedly in the third quarter as consumers pulled back on their demand.

Maybe people are drinking less of the cheapo beers. Around here the small breweries are multiplying. Our adult kids have taught us that pubs and happy hours are more civilized than family oriented places, and with better chow.

One can't a decent cup of coffee in most places. The big old water jacket coffee makers that were in the old truck stops and diners made decent coffee but the new coffee pot sized drip machines turn out garbage water.

At Home, The Wife like a BIG stove top espresso maker which does fine. I prefer a french press.

==Silver linen to every black cloud. Between the brewers and pornographers going out of business this economic meltdown may have some good side-effects after all.

I don't see factory workers losing their jobs as any kind of good news. That will likely be the outcome here.

The less alcohol produced the better.

I wonder how many coal miners Barack Hussein (we can say that now) Obama will put out of work when he demolishes the coal industry in the name of a myth?

And then I wonder where the fretting will be on this board as a result?

Derailing your own thread? Somehow you could take a thread about popcorn and it would end up being about abortion or global warming.
