Maybe the owners of this forum might rethink the google ads. I saw one that said "Gay and Lesbian Products." No amount of money is worth advertising those products on a Christian site.

I've been wondering this for sometime myself. There was a very provacative ad for a Larry the Cable Guy movie a couple of weeks back that emphasized some "wirdy dords" (as my nephew would say)

I agree, second the motion (are we in committee b/c that is important here), and call for the question on the motion. ;)

Such ads, when properly reported, are dealt with immediately. The ads are reflective of the subject matter being discussed at the time.

Please send the link to the inappropriate ad to an administrator and he/she will see that the owner of the board is duly notified.

Yes, I can confirm that. On the Polls forum, there is often an advert for a UK Deed Poll service, clearly generated by the multiple occurence of the word "poll" on that page.

I keep seeing an ad for a Muslim dating site. That shouldn't be on a Christian site.

Can keywords be blocked so certain ads won't show up?

Are we all willing to help the owner pay for the expenses if he stops allowing Google ads?

Easy solution - use Firefox with adblock.

Just click on the offensive ad (or right click and then click on properties). Then send the URL to an administrator.

We can block offensive ads one at a time, but we must have the URL, not just the name of the ad.

Just watch what you post. The ads are generated by what we say in them...

The owner, by his own admission, is making plenty of money from big advertisers. He doesn't need the google auctions...

    Thanks,
    §ue

Just curious, have you ever stopped watching a TV show/series because of ads. Have you ever stopped your kids from watching a show because of ads?

Good for you. I am continually amazed at how 'christians' continue to watch, and thus support programs on TV that support and/or promote immorality to say nothing of movies. :tonofbricks:

Sometimes the commercials are worse than the shows themselves.

I don't just stop watching the shows, I write to them and ask them to get rid of the offensive sponsors.

If the show is inappropriate, then I write to the sponsors asking them to pull their ads.
