Guppies

    Anyone know what to do with baby guppies so they arent eaten? Just got some today and one has already had babes!!!

    Best to separate them from the bigger guppies.

    The second idea is to provide a hiding place for the little ones with a plant, the bushier the better. Plastic plants work but live ones are cheap and easily obtainable.

    Thanks deac! I seperated the babies and put them in a "Sea Monkey" aquarium. It doesnt have a filter, though, so I am changing waterout every so often.

    There were about 17 babies when I went to bed, 5 of which were still in the big aquarium with the other guppies (there is greenery in there). This morning there's only one left in there, and all the seperated ones are still alive. So I guess they have a better chance there than in the tank.

    There is a netting cage you could put them in from the likes of walmart that you could enter into your own tank.

    I like guppies..had some when I was a kid.


    They tasted good.
    Had to eat a lot to fill me up though. [​IMG]
    No...not really. I had goldfish. I forgot about guppies eating their young.

    Oh Dear, Guppy girl #2 has started laying tonight. If these poor things make it to adulthodd, we will be overrun with Guppies!!! They reproduce like rabbits!
