    about holloween?

I only have one thing to say about this. Evil works at night. your children are not evil, only what presents itself. It is as Jesus was being ceased late at night and Jesus said, in Luke 22:53: "While I was with you daily in the temple, you did not lay hands on Me: but this hour and the power of darkness are yours." So to me the hour of darkness in holloween is not where I would want my children to be. Although when I was younger I did allow my children to go our on that night. I regret I let them go out. If you do let them go out pray with them and for them while they are out. :jesus:

My church is passing out Greet and Treat bags. This is the second year we have done it. I have some on my table ready to pass out.
Cute little bags with a cider packet, hot chocolate packet, Scripture reference, and invitation to church.
People have readily accepted these and are more ready to open the door than on other nights. Not meant to be a lengthy visit. We just say that we have a gift for them from the church and hand it to them.

    Well,

That is a great idea. I believe that the more children we retrieve through our relationship and decipleship, the more we get the parents involved in their childrens belief. This will cultivate the childrens' belief and maybe bring in the parents. Eventually when you bring in the children, they will bring in their parents. I believe Children have a way of doing that. :jesus: Praise God for that idea. Maybe throw in a children's picture Bible to make them understand that Jesus loves them. AMEN Diana

Of the 8 Satanic holidays celebrated throughout the year, which one do you think is the MOST important?

Why, it's Halloween (All Hallows Eve), the most important of the 4 Sabbats.

FYI, the other 3 Sabbats are:
    May Eve (Beltane)
    Summer Solstice
    Winter Solstice

The lesser holidays are called Esbats. The are:
    Candlemas (February 2)
    Spring Equinox
    Lammas (August 1)
    Fall Equinox

A Satanic member's birthday is also of great importance.

How do you "Christianize" a major Satanic holiday? Why would a Christian want to have ANYTHING to do with Halloween?

I think evil is a 24/7 kind of entity.

Luke 22:53 is not about the sun being down; the "darkness" Christ refers to is spiritual.

For us, we're not "Christianizing" a satanic holiday. We're offering an alternative that is scheduled at the same time.

October 31st is my day of salvation (as noted many times in previous postings). I will be marking the occasion with a special lunch (I rarely eat out and seldom eat lunch) and some time with the Lord, giving thanks for what He did for me so that I would have eternal life with Him.

October 31 is also Reformation Day.

As for Halloween, I don't put much into it, though I do have some candy on hand and some Chick gospel tracts, too, to give out to the kids who come around. Overall, I think I will just sip on some good apple cider on the porch and enjoy a nice, cool autumn evening.

In some churches where I've served, we held a Pumpkin Party, let the kids dress up ("nothing scary or witchy"), and we played games, had food, passed out bags of candy to each child, and gave a Child Evangelism lesson. We would ask the kids at the end "Do you want to do this again next year, or would you rather go trick-or-treating?" they would respond enthusiastically "We want to do this!"

My present church used to do this. We'd have a "Hobo Convention" where the kids dressed up like hobos, or a "Clown Night." (This avoided occult-like costumes.) But our pastor has now taken the "no Halloween" position so the holiday comes and goes and we do absolutely nothing to reach out to the pagans or provide an alternative to what the world is doing that night.

I'm just about the narrowest person that most of my acquaintances have ever met, but somehow I can't see why we're better Christians now than we were back when we were winning the lost and meeting parents at the Pumpkin Party.

A lot of pagans would love to have a safe place for their kids that evening. Those parents aren't dedicated to the celebration of death (which, as Helen has correctly pointed out, is the theme of the holiday), but the world gives them no other choice.

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

What bothers me even more is when the church says that Satan exists but acts like he doesn't. After all how many churhces are making disciples. Most make disciples like the 99 instead of the one who got away.

Do not forget Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Don't all seminaries name their buildings after men? Isn't that idolatry?

You are not any better, but the world sees you differently.

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you."

If outwardly an unsaved person cannot see you, a saved person, as any different than they are, what do you have to offer them?
