Harold Camping, rapture prophet: 'We were wrong'

Too bad that all of those people he duped (yes, still on them) and gave up everything, are still out everything, while I'm guessing he still has millions of dollars.

Oh, I agree. I don't give him a lot of credit, just a very tiny amount for actually saying that he was wrong. He could have just as easily invented some more nonsense to spout.

You see people like him, and you wonder if they are a legit "false prophet", or someone who just ignores something because they want to believe so bad.

Maybe he's getting right with God now, I don't know.

I do feel for all the unfortunate people who were duped by him.

Just curious - as to why it took so long to make news.

And as far as admitting he was wrong - I think he is about the first one to admit such. Can anyone think of any other "prophet" who admitted being wrong?

This was news back on Nov. 1, 2011. No idea why this story has revived now.

Because he now put out a new statement to his readers/followers. In it, he admitted not only that he was wrong - but that he sinned. He stated that the idea that no man knows the hour was correct and that he will never again try to predict the end of times. It's all a new statement giving more information - not just that he was wrong in his prediction.
