The last time I was in Wal-Mart I left a note on their little daily inspection checlist asking when it was truly last inspected noting, at that time, they were out of paper towels. In hopes that some manager or supervisor reviewed them at some point. It probably won't do much good.

In all fairness to shops that have otherwise clean facilities, people do lift whatever isn't fastened down, including paper towels and tissue and soap and in one place, the faucets.

    Cheers,

Birmingham, AL. In 1983, The downtown bus station bathroom cost a dime to get in. Those bathrooms were relatively clean. At the courthouse in B'ham there were no doors on the stalls. They were real clean cause nobody was going to use them with no doors.

I was in the bathroom, last stall, at work when I heard the door open. There was a little pitter patter and the stall 2 down from me was occupied. I said "hello?" and heard a "oh my heavens?". It was the marketing manager. She yelled to me and asked why I didn't say something earlier. I told her I usually don't get female visitors here in the mens restroom. Later she told me she frequently uses our restroom. I felt violated.

You should see public squatties in Ukraine.

    Walmart is beautiful.

A little mess doesn't compare with leaving the, er, building and discovering there had been a snake lurking under the seat ...

    Ouch!

Oh, I know all about public squatties [IMG] I've seen those in Switzerland and Tanzania. I know about the private backyard kind and the dig-your-own kind as well. But it is nice to have civilization in at home.... hehe.

This IS a true story and it happened to me!

Thirty years ago, (before Interstates), we were moving from Florida back home to Illinois. We stopped at a little gas station (mom and dad kind of place) to buy gas and use the facilities.

The 'bathroom' was an outhouse in back of the store. I took advantage of the two-seater and just as I was about to sit on the 'hole', a voice came from below saying, "Could you please move over? I'm painting under here."

I never moved so fast in my life! Later I found out it was a tape recorder and 'mom and dad' thought it was 'cute'. [IMG] (They had checked with my husband to make sure I could take a joke!!!!!)

You should see the bathrooms in parts of Mexico. I went there on my honeymoon. People just go in the street. Not talking about the big city, but ew, does it even matter?

Most bathrooms out here have blowers to dry your hands...they don't deal with paptertowels anymore. I prefer paper towels, you can wipe down the sink etc.

Blackbird, one of our bathrooms at church has 9 stalls and 4 sinks and a decorated sitting area with mirrors and beautifully apolstered chairs. The ladies at church decorate, and we have a ministry called "buckets and bows" that cleans twice a week. We have nice powder rooms...but they are still not big enough. The lines are pretty long between services. And what is with those conserve water toiletts? Exasperating! [IMG] [IMG]

Yes, but only when have no choice about it.

And this sentence of this post would have been different, however thankfully I realised that what I had typed could be taken another way...

I worked for a major cleaning company and the constant complaint by our cleaning staff what how completely nasty men leave the men's rooms. I cleaned a dentist's office for about a year and I had to wipe down the wall from ceiling to floor every day by the urinal.

I've never seen a men's room that was "cleaner" than a ladies room.

    Oh Well!!!

Sue, I am still laughing about the talking outhouse. I would probably still be running if that happened to me. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I noticed today that the wind blew so hard the last two days that the portable johnny on the spot (as they are called here) had been turned over. Hope no one was inside.

This reminds me of when I was a teenager and some people still had outhouses that for a Halloween Prank some of the boys would turn over the outhouses, but at one house the lady of the house was still inside the outhouse, oops... [IMG]

When I was a kid in Alabama, we used to go camping at this great state park called Tannehill (I don't think it's still there). I remember snakes in the outhouse was always an issue.

It could be worse. My dad didn't have indoor plumbing growing up and he had to contend with all kinds of wildcats when he was young.

I travel 3 to 4 nights a week on the average.
If I use a public retroom I have found that Hampton Inn lobby restrooms are very clean and very private.
Privacy is important to a man. In fact a man prefers to get the restroom all to himself even if there are several stalls. Many men whistle which is a universal code to let others know that they are in there and will be out soon.
Women on the other hand like to make this a social event. As we all know males and females are two differnet beast from 2 different planets. I doubt that women use the whistling technique.

I, like several others, have strong quads [IMG] And, with four little ones, I rarely have privacy in ANY bathroom! [IMG]

I recommend both the Hampton and the Holiday Inn chains. Most of your middle class and higher hotels/motels have clean lobby loos and OTR truckers prefer them to truck stops.
